Vents Off but Random burst of hot air????

Hey all, I have the exact same problem as this guy

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...highlight=heat

but i'm not as "vocal" as he is i guess,

anyone found a solution to this?

Basically even when i turn vents off or switch it to blow out of the front window only, theres always hot air still randomly comming out of the leg area, it's quite annoying, as your driving and you can slowly feel hot air blowing into your face...

anyone have any success fixing this themselves?

Lets be honest, no dealer is going to even bother with this complaint, they'll just give you some look and go

His personality problem or the one with the car? J/K

I'm not following your post. Is the hot air coming from the floor or the face vents?

What I find annoying is at temps from 5-12 roughly and sunny days the floor heater will blow very warm air and the vents much cooler. To correct this I have to manually override and adjust temp and position as I want. It seems there is a sensor that picks up the outside temperature as well as the inside cabin temp and very aggresively and unnecessarily cranks the floor heat while in auto setting.

I remember a while ago that Colin had a "fix" for this problem when he had his coupe.

I experience the same in my sedan.

Found it..its an older post so the pics aren't there

^Thanks Bill. That's not exactly the problem I'm experiencing but a worthwhile post none the less.

Good find Ted. Yes I remember this issue with early on G's including mine.

B00stedjustin, it's to do with sealing the battery box under the hood thereby sealing off hot underhood air from leaking thru into the cabin.
I havn't re-read the post that Bill refers to but I think that's the that explains all about that issue.

Deane's issue is different in that under some circunstances, warmer air is blowing out the lower vents while cooler air is blowing out upper vents. I believe this issue is to do with progaming of the air system to blow drier, air conditioned air to the upper vents to assist in defogging the windshield while still warming the cabin.
This action causes some strange air heating/air conditioning events...

Colin.

EDIT: who the hell is Ted???????
Sorry Bill, I meant to say Bill not Ted.
It's been a long day and a rotten cold....

I guess the main thing is that I completely turn off the vents but it still comes out slowly through the leg area, I seriously try to ignore it but the random flashes of heat is very annoying......

it seems like the sealing battery thingy might work but sounds very odd

It is strange but I believe Ian, (inTgr8r) has done some successful work on that and may be able to help with procedure....

Colin.
