Calgary & Edmonton road trip
This summer I will be taking the wife & the G on a nice long road trip
Starting in Vancouver to Calgary, then on to Edmonton....then to Jasper & the Icefields/ Banff....then back home to Vancouver.
I plan on spending a nite or 2 in Calgary and a couple nites in Edmonton, and one nite somewhere between Banff & Vancouver.
Question to all is....what to do while in Calgary & Edmonton
Besides shoppin...what else is there
BTW....I will get to Calgary AFTER the Stampede ends....
Thanks all

I live in Edmonton, and would probably recommend going to West Edmonton Mall, and you may want to take a trip down to Hawrelak Park; it is quite nice during the summer. Let me know what kind of food you and your wife like, I can point out some nice restaurants.
^ Thanks, West Edm Mall for sure, been there once a couple yrs back, but this time without the kids....wifey will thin out the wallet for sure this time.
Whats there to do at Hawrelak Park?
My wife likes to try all sorts of food, coming from Vancouver where theres a million diffrent restaurants....I figure a good steak house would be nice in Edm. I do have family in Edm. so I am sure they will take us somewhere to eat
....but anything you suggest would be appreciated
Thx!

In Calgary book ahead and go for supper at the Calgary tower pricey but awsome view of the city and mountains. If you are into it Calgary has a good zoo but I see you are not bringing kids so that may or may not intrest you.
Well Hawrelak park is more of a place to relax for a day and maybe have a picnic or something... its just a nice scenery. As for steaks, there are 3 great ones: Hardware Grill, Ruth's Grill, and Chop. All are expensive, but great steak! Hit up Whyte Ave too, your wife may enjoy it more than you lol.
