Get those lowers painted in the spring and you're good to go!
The Ex is ours, yes, but that Open Road is the neighbor's trailer; our Prowler is in the yard on the other side, you can see the stabilizer jack in one of the shots.

My car certainly has its share of chips, especially on the hood, and one or two other small scars but overall it's pretty decent for a five-year-old car. The front bumper was painted just before I bought it, so it's in nice shape. I don't know if I'll paint the lowers or not, they are not all that noticeable and hang pretty well with the green colour.

Roger on the trailer.

That makes sense on the bumper then. The paint thing on the lowers all really depends on how long you want to keep the car. I even had the mirror extensions done on mine when I replaced/upgraded the front bumper to an '06 sport model.

We got some snow last night and about 2-3 cms on the ground now. It was supposed to turn to rain but didn't. No doubt it will be gone by day end. We don't normally get anything that stays until well into December or nearly January. I don't normally drag out the snows until December.

Well we got a few cms of snow last night so I figured it was time to get the winter tires on. I've got WS50 Blizzaks mounted on 350Z wheels.

Yeah, I like the Z wheels, too. Subtle. First time I've seen your overlays, too, Shane, they look good.

Great set up Shane. Should be easy to clean too.

We had a bit of that snow too. Some melted but there is still a bit on the ground.

Talking about winter wheels. I hope everyone has sealed the winter wheels to protect them and make them easy to keep clean.

I have about 3 layers of Wheelwax on mine and a good heavy coat of Zaino Tire dressing on my winter set-up. I did this last year with the wheelwax and the wheels endured the winter perfectly and were extremely easy to keep clean.

I vacuumed out all the air vents and nooks and crannies around the hood and trunk to get out any leaves that get in there. I put in my winter mats. I put my winter emergency kit and blanket in the trunk. I just have to silicone the cars weatherstripping and I'm set for winter.

Yeah, I am pretty happy with my winter setup......especially since it only cost me $500 USD. My winter setup on my 03 G Sedan was Blizzaks mounted on steelies.......so this is a step up for me.

That seems a bit high, where did you get your tires mounted? Fountain Tire said it will only cost me 15.50 per tire, I hope they were NOT referring to simply the mount...

I saved roughly around $900-1000 going with tirerack, Fountain Tire quoted me 2100 for Dunlop Winter Sport M3, I got them for $1000 + 100 in mounting & balancing from your quote there .

Got mine done at TireCraft. Blaskin and Lane quoted me $100, I think. Since they were 'loose' and didn't need to be installed on the car, I think it only cost me about 65 bucks.

I'm waiting for the last possible minute to toss my blizzak's on to hopefully avoid the wear on my brand new tires.

The only problem with that is being caught somewhere w/o them.
I've had it happen, where I started out & weather was perfect..... then WHAM

JMO, but it's better to play it safe than worry about a little tire wear.

How fast do the blizzaks wear on dry pavement say over 1000kms, is it noticeable?
