LOL , love your humor Sam

We have the strong winds this morning, there is a lot of drifting ,but maybe just 10" or so deep in the drifts so far. It is snowing right now, looks like I can take my grand daughter sledding this week .

It's supposed to let up tomorrow, which is good, I have to drive an elderly friend (much more elderly than I ) to the Hospital in another town, and it's a 2 hour drive in good weather.

Hahaha Sam....or would that be hohoho?

If I thought it would be feasible we'd gladly ship some of this white stuff off too, although pick up would be better too.

Glad to hear everyone seems to be making out okay so far with this one and severity from what I've read is a bit less than expected.

We've got at least 20cms on the ground now and 15-20 forecast when this storm arrives tonight. Snow is to be followed with freezing rain and then rain 25-35 mm and temps of plus 10 and dropping to -10 at night. It will be a hell of a mess by the sounds of it.

We're setting a lot of record low temps here lately. I can't recall temps this low for so long and it's not even winter here yet. The auxiliary heater for my heat pump has been running a lot.

Great winter spirit Wayne. Kudos on the volunteer help.

The snow has just started here. I think I see a work from home day happening tomorrow.

Stay safe everyone.

Well Shane most of the main roads are closed in and out of our town as of now.
Hopefully they will open up tomorrow so I can get my friend to his appointment.

Time to play in the X

Have fun playing Wayne! If you can, take another great picture of the X in the snow like you did last year!

Yippee Lots of snow
I went out to clean the driveway and I couldn't open the door on the one side of the X because of drifting.
I grabbed my camera and just took a couple quick shots of the car waiting to be cleaned. I won't be taking any more pics today unless the wind dies down, my poor camera lens was covered just taking a couple of pics.

Great pics Wayne....
We just got back in from the traditional cutting of the Christmas tree in the back 40.

Not too much wind but the snow is so heavy that visibility is about 30' max.
We're in hot chocolate 'round the fireplace mode now

...stay safe everyone

Great pics Wayne, looks like you got a fair amount of snow there.

Ian, fantastic tradition cutting down your own tree!

Last night they were forecasting as much as 60 cm for us by Monday morning - I assumed they were exaggerating.
Looking out this morning at no new snow, I decided they were completely full of crap.

Right now I'm not so sure, it's really coming down.

Yeah, nice to be able to do that. I drove about 45km round trip to go cut one. After tromping a km or so through deep snow and hilly countryside in frigid temperatures and gusty winds with my father, neither of us could find a decent one on the whole tree farm.

On my way home I stopped and picked out a beautiful dried out old 9 footer at our regular local purveyor of October cut (with claims of fresh cut) specimens. It shed a pound of needles in my van as I fought in the crowded space to keep the trunk away from the steering wheel to stay on the road. I should have thrown it on the roof, even though it was rammed through the bailer breaking a few near permanently frozen limbs and showering the ground with a mound of needles. Another pound of needles came off bringing it into the house. Thousands more needles graced our floors while it was being adorned with 1100 lights and hundreds of ornaments.

The snow is starting here now and we're preparing for the near blizzard and flood that is to follow. It's a great start to the holiday season. LOL.

Great pics Wayne. Send us some of that winter joy and glee you exude.

I miss having AWD or 4WD to go play. H and I used to do a lot of it in country area we used to live in.

LOL, Karen laughed her head off at me this morning, she looked out in the yard and I was laying in a snow drift making snow angels.
