We got 34 cm yesterday, but it was better than the 60 cm they forecast. We got no rain with it, so I'd say we did all right.
I got up this morning and the house was 14 C.
Turned out to be two AA batteries in the thermostat that shut down a new $10,000 HVAC system. Go figure.

Been there on the batteries on the thermostat for our $$ system too.
we were lucky here, i suppose, no rain, don't think it got above -10, did get 45cm though... had to dig myself a parking spot 3 times yesterday, all in 3-4 ft snow banks, and then had to dig the car out of 'em.
still, i love winter, the one time you can have fun driving, legally.
and the g is a great car in the snow, and i have to admit i turn the vdc off most of the time, car's so well balanced and easy to control even in a foot of powder, or slush it doesn't really need it. When it's on though, rather than plowing through the snow bank, it applies the brakes and stops the car half-way through... who ever designed it never spent a winter in montreal in a rwd car.
overall, i'm looking forward to the next storm,

Have you seen the huge blowers they use out in the Rockies? They're also quite a 'spectacle'.

Another nor' easter scheduled to hit today. It's been upgraded from 5-10cms of snow and 20cm of rain to freezing rain to start and 20-30cms of snow with high winds. Nice.
Shane, it sounds like you guys will be getting a little piece of this too.
