OMFG, I just got in from doing the driveway with the Craftsmen. That is the worst conditions I can ever recall being out in.
We have 3 foot+ drifts and it's been pouring freezing rain for over an hour with winds gusting to 90km now. The house is actually shaking and grunting from the forces. Hurt like hell on the face being out there and I felt like a frozen drowning rat.
Got the snow off the drive though so hopefully warm temps and rain now will melt the ice on it.

Bleh, what a mess this morning. According to the local radio, we got 23 cms of snow. The the snow was fine. It was the freezing rain and rain overnight that made everything such a mess. The winds were howling like crazy over night. It was almost like a freight train was going through our back yard. Our power flickered, but thankfully we never lost it. I pity the people that didnt do their drive last night or this morning, because the temps have already dropped and the snow is now hard as a rock. We are supposed to get more snow on Wednesday.
I am just trying to think of a happy place right now. Ahhhhhhhh, palm trees, warm weather, and sandy beaches.

Yeah, we got about 25 cm from Sunday to today (Monday) with a little freezing rain mixed in just to make it 'interesting'..........
Marg keeps telling me "we're one day closer to spring....hang in there..

Got everything cleaned up this a.m.
Just as I was blowing the drive the snow plow came through, so timing was perfect.
Wasn't bad at all with the winds the way they were....
all of the drifting was in the front yard, the driveway was just a flat 8 - 10"

Hope you guys are all okay and braced for some more snow.
It's actually 0 degrees and sunny! We're supposed to get another 5-10 cm today/tonight. Last night it got up to +11 so major rain and melting.
An employee has her apartment flooded, ceiling coming down in places, water coming out of her electrical sockets and she isn't on the top floor, which had to be evacuated. I just finished about 10 minutes ago after about 4 hours+ this morning. After shoveling/snowblowing again I put down 4 bags of salt. After an hour or so along with the welcome sun I got all of the ice off the driveway. Then I made a trench out on the street to drain the water 4" deep in my driveway. That was a major effort with the pick axe and about 175' of canal necessary. (my lot, my neighbours and part of the next one. One other neighbour asked if I work for the city!
Then I went over and worked on my neighbours place since he is away working and she probably couldn't handle this heavy slush crap. Time to try and get some work done now.

Ian, Colin, Wayne and Shane...good to hear you're all alive after this stuff. Wow, this was a real. Less snow for us than expected but the winds and rain really made it horrible.
