It happens all the time.
I was at a local shop and I saw how they handled their torque wrenches. I asked when they were last tested and recalibrated. The guy looked at me with a blank look on his face and just said "uhhhh????"
I asked him if I could take it to my shop and test it, and if it was out I would recalibrate it for him. It was out a country mile, I think it was off about 12% if I remember correctly. They never reset it back to a minimum setting when they were done for the day, just left it on the high settings. I'm sure it had been dropped a few times. I ended up doing a major rebuild on the torque wrench (replacing internal spring, pivot block, etc) . I never trust them.

I just had my car serviced at my Infiniti dealers. A week later I changed my rims and I am positive my wheel studs were torqued a bit on the high side. At least it certainly felt like it when I was changing to my summers.

Don't know if i'm suppose to post this question in there. What would happen if you under or over torque? I'm curious, because i just put on my summer tires and it doesn't feel as smooth of a ride as before or compared to the winter tires.

Under: wheels fall off.
Over: may ruin studs/nuts.
Sounds like it's probably just the difference in feel of your summer tires. Or maybe a balancing weight fell off and you're a little out of balance?

Thanks for the quuick reply Swivel.

I brought it to Brasso this morning, because Hyatt was booking in mid May and i want it fix asap. Brasso said the same thing you did about the feel of the tires, but i told them to look at anyway.

I also hear this whamp whamp noise from the rear end, does that sound like the tires making noise from the road? I'm running 245 40ZR18 OEM.

If I only want to change my tires from Winter to Summer to Winter and so on....
What else do I need beside a Torque wrench?
Can I use the jack that came with the car to change tires?

Something to block the wheels when its jacked up, maybe a jack stand just to be on the safe side.

Oh you're in Calgary? What are you driving? Be sure to post up pics and register in the Western Canada registry and note we are putting together a meet in May in Sylvan Lake.

"whamp whamp" - tires feathering? Hopefully Brasso can tell you.

Monkey, that jack works but it's not great. Be sure and get it properly situated on the jacking points as per the manual so you don't damage your car (or yourself). You probably know all this, just me being **** about it.

Brasso is telling me that my tires are cut or cup? And my alignment is off center...

Anyone know what i should do?

No expert here, CC, but if they say they are 'cupped' I would: 1. get a second opinion, 2. if they are beyond help, get new tires and a good alignment/suspension check to prevent a repeat since it's the alignment/bouncing that caused the tires to have a problem.

A bit about 'cupping':
