If the fitment is bad; I will just but the 06 MT Center console; and make it sit right.

I saw this when the thread first started and thought it looked awesome. It really can't be done unless you go with the MT ring

Also not one of the three items in the link you provided appear to be the correct part according to the diagram. Why is there a different part listed for something that is the same year?

Doesn't appear to be based on the fit of the pic you provided.
While the 350z one looks really good, you're not going to be able to do that on a g35 because the base is different. The 350z has the ring while we do not. The only way to make it look like that is to take off the base and put in some kind of ring like the OP has been talking about.
Or, you can do what I did and slide the boot under the base. Just make sure you don't get a boot with piping because it makes it a PITA and the piping is too thick.

Here was the thread I found from a while back that I got the ring method from

Exactly, and their is no method that I know of besides doing the MT ring method I mentioned above. OP, rip the center console apart and see for yourself. It will answer all of your questions.

No worries. Not sure why you seem to be offended since that is not my intention. I'm only suggesting the ring shown in the pic is not mounted the same as it is in an MT.
In any case you haven't answered either of my questions. From your response above I take it you also agree the ring for the MT and AT are not exactly the same.

Well after further inspection; the MT has a much bigger circle cutout thing like you said; the dish will probably end up sticking out like that because of the size of the dish but what if I got a 350Z AT Shifter ring and placed it instead? I am pretty positive they use the same shiftplate dimensions but the circle thing is just extra. Would seem like a tight fit though.. To get the fit of a MT; will require two different panels; getting a bit troublesome for a conversion.
I will open up my console next week and check it out for myself.

Do you know what part I will need? I was going to order today; but there are 2 different "rings" parts for the MT; not sure which one is the one that will serve my purpose.

As long as I am only unscrewing a bunch of screws in the interior; and not touching anything mechanical; I think I will be fine. But don't be suprised if next week if I do **** up and post that "XXX is not working after dash removal"
. I will take some pics as I do it though if I get that circle plate and my shift **** by next week.

You remove the dash/console; remove the shift **** so you can lift up the center console; remove the circle shift plate; insert the 6MT one and crimp the leather boot (guy who has done it in the pics says he just popped it in there; nothing else); and reassemble the dash and install the Auto shift ****.
