Mine $1272/yr ($106/mon) for full coverage, 300deduct. and a few other fairly typical features like replacement value, towing, Car rental. TD MELOCHE MONNEX. Spotless (aka boring) driving record, live in Waterloo. Oh ya, been driving (legally) for 26years.

Q: A question for you guys, if I may...

My insurance co. (the Personal) states that my max deductable is $1000 for the 08 Gx. I was used to the $300-$500 range on my other cars and this one is $1000.

When I asked, they said: "The G is a higher rated car, thus the higher max deductable".
Is this unique only to ME or has anyone else experienced this?? I would prefer a lower deductable.

Just paid my insurance today through AMA. $1501 for 05 G35 Sedan and a 07 GSX-R750. Comprehensive coverage, $500 deductible. $823 is for the G. I got a better quote for TD Meloche Monnex cause I'm an Engineer (around $700) but they wouldn't insure my bike. I'm 26 year old with 1 ticket in the last 10 years. (Racing home to grab my driver's license that I forgot...figures)

Sorry, didn't know that being from NB had any relevance to Johnny's question.

Each company has their own policy but depending who you talk to you can probably get it lower if you want. The Personal is just a call centre and don't know you from a hole in the ground so they probably won't tell you that.
I have a guy with a Viper insured and he has $500 collision and $300 comprehensive.
A lot of the time the person you are talking to has the discretion to change it.
Hope that helps.
You don't really save that much more by going higher than a $1000 deductible by the way. If I put someone with a $2500 deductible instead of a $1000 deductible it might save them $30/yr. Not really worth it

Pretty much all of Ontario is higher than other provinces in terms of insurance. Higher risks as well thus requiring higher deductible.

Heck Matt, I never knew that. I thought you saved much more than that. I have $1000 deductible mainly cause I would pay for anything less myself, but I thought I was saving more than that.
Thanks for the info (I'm going to give my daughter shiznitts, cause she is also an insurance broker and never told me that before.)
