IIRC some costco only do it if you bought tires... others do it no problem.

I think the charge of $50.00 is way too much for that kind of things... it's simply ridiculous... how one can justify it?

^^ Yup, when I bought tires for my last car, they did that for me. And put lovely green valve caps on. I put them on my kids' bikes.

$50 for nitrogen is outrageous.

The green caps have to be better than the garbage supplied by infiniti, those stupid tin caps have fused to my TPMS valve stems twice.

Guelph Infiniti offers it also now.
I would not waste my money. If it was free then okay.

Now if we could get helium for our tires to make our cars lighter and use less gas

Interesting, just had them mount some tires on my wife's SUV, wonder if they put in N2? I'll have to check for green caps.

Is it true that you cannot mix oxygen with nitrogen if the tire pressure is a little low?

Also do you need a different type of tire pressure gauge to measure the amount of nitrogen in the tires? (as in you cannot use a regular tire pressure gauge)

Someone told me this over the weekend but for some reason I don't believe them.

You should top up with nitrogen, but the whole point is that you shouldn't need it very often.
Pressure in my wifes Escape has been good for 6months now.
Same P Gauge is fine, it's still just air pressure that you are reading.
Try not to loose too much when checking.... most of your pressure loss will be due to leakage when checking.

& in an emergency you can fill with normal air (normal air is mostly nitrogen anyway)
