Angry New tire needed for the rear

I blew one of the rear tires.
I am using the spare right now, should i buy two and replace both or just one?
I only used them for about 20,000 km.

Also, should I buy from dealership or from place like tire rack?
Would you guys recommend me buying the same as OEM or something else?
If something else, which one should I get?
The size for my car is 245/40-19, I only see 3 kinds on tire rack which are not a lot of options.

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
Yokohama ADVAN Sport
Kumho Ecsta SPT

I had something similar last year except it didn't blow... I ended up having to replace 2 tires. I think you should replace 2 new tires of the same brand/model.

Just checking prices around and here are the result for the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A:

Kal Tires quoted me:
$485 each

Infiniti in Edmonton:
$540 each

Tire Trend:
$436 each

Tire Rack:
$380 each

The only problem is I will have to wait a while if I order from Tire Rack.
I hope it will be ok to drive the spare for a while.

Been there, done that...

I've blown a rear tire and dented a rim on separate occassions, so driving on a spare is nothing new to me.

^+1 on the sentiment to buy a new set. Not only are you driving on a set that will wear down together, you'll have a backup tire for any other reasons that might require just a quick swap-out for the time being. Being that they are rears, they will go pretty quickly and having options is always good.

If you're going to run the spare for a prolonged period of time, remember you can't really take it over 80kmh, so if you're going to drive on it for a while, try to avoid highway driving or be ready to go sloooooowww. Also, remember that a donut has to be inflated like almost double the PSI that our regular tires are (60-65psi?) so if you just put it on straight out of the trunk, its probably not full or very safe. Most of the 'free' air pumps at gas stations will only fill up to about 45psi (I've tried) so either talk to a mechanic to help you out, or find someone with an air compressor.

Just my two cents,
Al

ok thanks, i think I will have to order a set of two.
But as you can see how "stealership" charge is just bland ridiculous.

I will order from Tire Rack for sure. And I will continue to use the car for driving a short distance since I live in a very small city.

I take it, I will need to install AND balance them right?

You can get some Kumho from Tirerack for around $170/tire; even cheaper with a brand like General. Heard they are decent. GL.

I just placed the order for two tires.

Came to:
$740.87 US included shipping, duty, and brokerage fee.

Which is still better than $540 EACH from Infiniti dealership.
Man I hate stealership!
