Smile A little MOPAR luv from Canadian Driver....

Test Drive: 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

....interesting that her hubby already has one c/w mods.

Its styling may pay homage to its 1970-1974 predecessor, but its greasy bits don't;

I was so gung ho about these when I first saw pics etc. Then we went to check out the smaller hemi version and I wasn't really impressed. It is so much bigger and bulkier than the original !970s versions.
The big Hemi would be the only thing I would really like.

^I was looking at the same thing last week. They're a huge car and very porky. The 6.1 would definitely be the draw card.

i still can't get over how heavy this car is.... article also says that the new camaro will be pushing over 3900 pounds as well. no wonder these things need so much horsepower to get moving. these cars must be brutal with the smaller v6's in them.

I agree about the weight issue..... it can really spoil a car.

Yes, I absolutely loved the look of the car from a distance. Then when sitting in it you realize how big it really is, too big for me.

Definitely the only Mopar that catches my eye. Haven't sat in one, so I haven't experienced the large size issue (sounds bad). Sure isn't a lightweight car.

I would imagine that the size, is in no small part due to platform sharing.

I've been around a bunch of them, mainly SRT8 models and whiles they look fantastic, they are definitely too big for my tastes. Furthermore the 4000+lb curb weight really kills it for me. However if Chrysler goes under, and there is a firesale on some regular 6 speed R/T models, I would be very tempted to swap the G for one heh...it would have to be a damn good deal though.
