I hate to say it but your best bet likely is to have one of your parents insure it for you. Have them put it on their plan as an extended car or whatever it is called. Then you just pay them. Bare in mind that anything that happens regardless of fault will raise their insurence. If their cool with that....that is what I would do.

I pay about 1400 in Alberta and I'm 29.

I have my home and auto combined at TD canada Trust. Best deal I have found for me.

Which is steep as hell, but I am so in love with this car I wish I never test drove one.

But my parents are also going to give me a $1000 a year as they pay my insurance as a part time driver on their policy. But my Dad wants me to get off so he can buy a 350Z, which I am more than happy to get off to have one of those around the house!

So I am looking at maybe $2000 a year I need a better job!
Belair Direct by far, both my buddy and I got the lowest rates with them (I drive a G and he drives a Z)

I've been with RBC since I've got my license (2006) and I've been getting pretty good rates. Paying about $295 a month for full coverage, $1 million liability. 19 years old and clean record.

I found that Belair Direct had good rates as well.

how the hell do you young kids have one of these?!
I just got mine, I had a Sentra Spec-V before this and I just barely can afford it working 2 jobs!
When I was pricing out insurance they wanted between 4500 and 6500 (one 30 over speeding ticket and one 15 over ticket), then I was talking to owner of the transportation company I work for who pays $250,000 in insurance every year, asked his broker about it now I work half a day for free a month and get my insurance free. good trade off for me - exactly what he did I don't know or care.
