Need Help!! Turbo or N/A
i need help to decide on a turbo setup or NA.
the turbo setup is: STS rear mounted turbo kit: T4 turbo, intercooler, 440cc injectors, fuel pump, bov, all necessary accessories, gauges, utec ect... with my car tuned my mech says 400whp at 6-8 psi but not more cuz it wouldnt be good for the engine. all of this would cost me 5500$ USD! ~ 7-8k canadian plus 1200$ CDN install + 300$CDN tune ~ 9k ish all together..... for 400whp.
N/A setup is: individual throttle bodys (6 - 1 for piston). Cams and heads for the engine, utec, nissan titan lsd gears. all for 5500$ CDN installed! whp somewhere in the mid 300s
** cant use the shorter lsd gearing with the turbo cuz of wheel spin**
Existing mods on the car: intake, plenum 5'8s, lightweight pulleys, headers, test pipes, custom y-pipe and mid-pipe w/stock muffler and sprint booster.
so besically turbo+tune 400whp for 9k or mid 320-360 whp for full bolton with stage 2 NA +tune for only 5k???

There are several CDN turbo car members that I'm sure could give you some good feedback.
where were you getting it installed?
I bought a turbonetics kit off a guy on here, haven't installed it yet - still accumulating part exhaust, gauges, BOV, wastegate etc.
I'm going turbo because I hear boost is addicting to drive with.

Rear mounted turbos are not my favorite, kind of a waste of money, dont take it the wrong way there have been members that have made some high numbers with it but they have also spent $$$. N/A will end up costing you alot more money down the road just to get the 350whp mark, if even possible, few members have full rebuilt motors with internals and still only produce around 300-325whp(maybe more not sure lol), but F/I will be the "CHEAPEST" route in the long run, I would recommend the turbonetics single, seen good results from it, or if your a baller you can run the JWT kit and do your motor work and you can put down some SICK A$$ numbers....good luck with your build

I built my own kit, it cost me about $3000 Canadian. I ended up buying a Haltech, so that drove the price up an additional $2500. If I had stayed with a UTEC it would have been about $3800 total. Didn't really cheap out on anything, Garrett turbo, Tial Wastegate....ect. More info here: http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...brication.html
You could also get a used Turbonetics kit for really cheap these day. Probably around $3500.
I think you went the right way if you like power it is way more $$$ to get the power N/A most ITB kits I saw when I was looking were as much as a turbo kit. I have heard the STS kit is good and it is easy to install. I am not sure about a $300 tune
the only way that is possible is if your tuner has done one of these kits before and is giving you the same tune he gave someone else and maybe tweaking it a bit. I havent looked into power levels much on an STS kit but 400whp might be a bit optamistic. Keep us posted anyway.
