Anyone know about the Montreal Canadiens logo?

I seen the canadiens have their logo changed this year, someone asked me i couldnt figure it out.

Normally, they have a big C with a little H inside (for Habitants "habs" i presume).

Now they got the C with a little letter A inside. Whats the A for?

I heard a discussion on the radio about this but I don't recall the answer.
...it's a throwback to an old logo though, not new.

:edit:
found this...
I work for the Canadiens and I´m asked that question all the time. I can unequivocally say that the CH stands for Club de Hockey and doesn´t refer to either Canadiens or Habitants. The same logic applies to the old CA logo which they wore in the early years. In that case the CA stood for Club Athletique.

I don´t think anyone disputes that The Canadiens are called The Habs because of their origin as french canadians called les habitants. The Canadiens as a team has evolved over the years and so has their jersey. When the club was born in 1909 they were simply the "Club Canadien" with just a "C" on their jersey, then in 1911 they became "Club Athlétique Canadien" with "CAC" on their jersey, for 1914-1915 season it changed again to a large "C" with a smaller "A" within the "C" (which was their uniform when they won the cup in 1916). By the next season, the Club Athlétique Canadiens was no longer in business, the "A" changed to "H", the new "Club de Hockey Canadien" was born, and the uniform has remained essentially unchanged ever since.

Awesome Ian, my googling adventures didn't get me that excellent explanation. Makes sense now. I always thought that H was for habitants, when in fact, club de hockey.
good find, thanks.

And by the way, detroit baby!

Ahhh Laraque quite simply the worst player in hockey today! I used to hate when he was on the ice in Edmonton watching him skate is down right painful. I have a buddy that played on a team with him he said Laraque is the biggest loser in the leauge as well pretty much a total outcast. Which didnt suprise me much after hearing his radio show.

So...it does NOT stand for H(onda) and A(cura)?
What a relief!

hey Laraque is a cool guy, he is an enforcer, so noone expects them to do well,he has been having these injuries so he is not out there that much. and definitely not a cheap shot fighter.
