Wheel Cleaner

For those of you who clean the inside of your rims, what do you use to get the brake dust off?

Peter, don't laugh, but after I cleaned my wheels(PIAAs) up real good last fall, I clay-barred the inside and outside then applied a couple of coats of Wheelwax.

I use P21S Wheel Gel Cleaner to clean my wheels and Poorboys Wheel Sealant to protect them. Using a protectant like PB's Wheel Sealant or Wheel Wax makes cleaning them and wiping off brake dust much easier.

^+1 on using PB Wheel Sealant or Wheelwax. I have both and they work great for helping to keep the wheels protected and easier to clean.

That was my mistake, I should have used PB on the inside of my rims when I first bought them.

I have no problems maintaining the face of my rims, I want to clean the inside before I put them back on for the summer however I cant seem to get the caked on brake dust off with just soap and water.

Yeah, the stuff I mentioned above is perfect for that. It takes it all off with little effort.

Here's some pics that I took right after I used this stuff on two sets of rims today. There are before and after pics. A couple showing the chrome lip for my Sevas rims, and a couple showing it on the entire rim of a Bentley Flying Spur. Can be used for any metal though, these just happen to both be chrome.

My rims need more work still.

Poorboys Wheel Sealant Bill , it will protect your rims without hurting the finish and you will find you get much less brake dust on the rims when using it.
Order it from this Ontario distributor : http://www.eshine.ca/poorboys_wheel_sealant-1844.php They are great to deal with and good fast service.

By the way I was around your area today looking for you.

Not that I know of. As far as I'm concerned Wheelwax and Poorboys Wheel Sealant are the best that I have heard about or used..

Really any kind of wax will offer some protection on your wheels, I just found those good because they really do seem to repel brake dust and last longer than regular waxes.
