You're a little off on that, I think you meant IP orange, MP white? You may need an MP black on the end, but otherwise it should be ok.

You are correct. PG orange, IP Orange, and MP white, and EX black.... I"m ***** deep into it. The hood is done right up to the EX... and wow, you weren't kidding. Thst stuff smells awesome! Like bubblegum or something.

I'm a little bit dissapointed so far as I guess I was expecting all my scratches to go away... but I think my expectations were completely unreasonable... or ****. But it's certainly a night and day difference. I can't complain I suppose! I'm going to be working on this all week I think.

You can make multiple passes of PG/orange, just be careful not to heat up the paint too much.

Hi Kevin. We met at the Newmarket detailing meet. I am the guy who brought Stephan (the detailer) with me. After looking at zeadlots pics above I have to say that I have seen clearcoats which appeared to be much worse than that which have been corrected to a near perfect finish. He should be able to remove all of those swirls with a few passes. Wouldn't you agree?
Cheers
Paul

Unhappy Frusterated....

I'm still learning as I go of course. I started with the hood seeing that it was a nice flat surface with a min amount of curves or grooves that I could potentially burn or whatever. The hood took 3 rounds of PG, 2 rounds of IP and 1 round of MP and 1 light shot of EX.

I do like the way the hood looks. I think alot of my problem is I can't tell when the any of the products are broken down because of my white paint. I can't tell if I'm using too much to too little... I just can't tell ****, and I don't have anyone to help me. I have also been really struggling in trying to get good pictures of what I'm doing. I only have 1 small halogen lamp without a stand....

I just finished PG'ing the drivers side of the car yesterday afternoon. I would love to do 2 more coats of PG and continue like I did for the hood but I'm afraid I'm just not doing it right.

My plan right now is to hit a couple trouble spots with the PG, and just do 1 pass with IP and 1 pass with MP, and just seal it up with EX.

I will do this for the rear as well as the passenger side and then I'll just wait until I can properly consult a professional detailer. What I really need is context around my expectations. I need to know from a professional if it's even possible to remove what I have. That way I won't spend (or WILL spend) days putting multiple passes into my car.

Man I really wish one of you detailing guys lived in calgary. I'm going to have to go onto the classifieds and find someone who's willing to come out for a quick consult...

I've decided to stop for now and go see a guy here in calgary names Carlos. He's the owner and operator of DetailBliss here is SW calgary. After I get some advice from him I'm planning on talking to him some more about a calgary detail FYI/DIY how to meet for us. I know you all would appreciate it and I would to.

See, I don't just talk ****!!@ I sometimes find a way!

It's hard to tell from pictures, he may have some RIDs which require sanding, but for the most part I'd say yes, with the right experience he should be able to get that hood 99% corrected. This is his first time with a PC though, and there is a learning curve. I'd say that if you get 75% correction and no haze your first time with a PC you've done a good job. Most people make their paint worse the first time they do it.

Awesome results. I am guessing that you found the time spent VERY worthwhile and the end result very gratifying. Looks great man!
