window stain, mark, print whatever you want to call!!!

hi guys,

i even searched in the general forum about window marks , however all i got was dozens of threads about window motor problems.

i have a 2003 coupe , everytime i roll up my passenger and driver's side windows, the window ,mostly middle part is covered with plastic stain, its not that it cant be cleaned, but it shows the windows pretty bad. usually you really have to put some pressure while you are wiping the stain off.
I think I have to change the plastic thing which the window rolls down to.

anyone had the same problem and any idea how much would it cost? and if you don't mind where as well.

thanks a lot in advance.

This is an old problem with earlier cars,
a lot of guys complained about this even when the cars were new.

IDK what the solution is though ...sorry.

thx snakes1021 , i did not know the acronym, my warranty is already done, so i have to get it done at mechanics, the thing is it will take quiet a while so the labor cost is high, basically material part of the repair is almost nothing.its mostly adjusting.

From what i understand the outh window trim rubber has a felt liner to allow it to squeege the window but not scratch it from dirt. Because of the curve and poor engineering of the curve the window has a pressure point where ti meets teh glass and causes the felt to wear off.
If you can reattach some felt it might help . Would need to see it in person to find a diy fix besides replacing the whole trim.
One option is to use 300 grit sandpaper on the rubber which will scuff it enough to stop the rubber from pressing tightly against the glass..
