I think the same could be said about any car... personally from my experience with the G, i wasnt overly impressed at all every time I went to the dealer I had to drop a g note. Seriously... 720 bucks for a ballast and 360 for a bulb? At 100k i had to completely redue my suspension components and bearings.
I went through the mentality that 'the G' was the only car worth owning... but then when i started looking at other cars I realize that overall, there are alot of good cars besides the G. I think some people are just more reluctant to be open towards other brands. Plus, a stock G really isnt that great of a looking car, with 280hp... You need rims, maybe a slight drop, some contrasting colour and tint to really give it an edge. It can take alot of cash to make a G 'look' really good... and I dunno how many older women I see driving G's, because the car was designed for the older business men to buy or a car to buy their wives for commuting.
When you look at a car like the 1 series for example (theres others, MINI, A3, etc) These are sport cars designed for a younger consumer.
Just my opinion... not saying its right. As an automotive designer you have to be open to thinking outside the box, or else you never survive. I learned that my first year.

your car was not stock. it was lowered, crazy *** rims, tinted, doubledin. plus, i can survey 10 people and they would choose a STOCK G look over the 135i look. color makes a difference so, lets just say BLACK for both cars.
this car is FGULY (****en ugly) ... and i wouldn't park 10 feet near something like that. i might be wrong about it being a "chicks" car.. but from my everyday experience, i mostly see females driving it.
Shawn, your opinion is obviously different from others. In the end, it will be you that will be buying the car and driving it around and whatever makes you happy, go for it! Everyone has different needs and looks like, you are looking for a daily driver + track performer which this car is perfect for. As for the same looks you are expecting to get vs the Camaro, G37S, G35 STOCK, i'm sorry, you might have to forfeit that.

I would say I see more older women driving a G Sedan than any other type of driver...
I not saying I hate the G, obviously I liked it if I bought one. All im saying is there are other nice cars out there besides a G. The 1 series does look a bit odd, but its also a new model.
Ugly models: Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo, 2009 Acura TL.. etc
It all comes down to personal opinion. I like the 1 series as an overall car, im not saying its better looking than a G37. But with the chip it has more power for less price, better handling... Obviously if I compared it to a 370Z Track Pack in the same price range I'd choose the 370, but as an all around car, the 370 only has 2 seats...
Raam.. You are a hater hahaha ever since I sold my rims!

BMW has free scheduled mainenance for the first 4 years. Includes brakes, wipers, oil changes ect.

At our shop, we get a lot of highend bmws coming in (m, 7 series) with electrical problems which BMW is famous for. The stereo will fail easily and cost to replace a factory unit is several G notes lol... Usually during this conversation.. the customer decides to go aftermarket or car pc setup.
Brakes, oil changes, WIPERS? (r u kidding me), are the least of your worries. The control arm also tends to **** up often including other electronics as mentioned above (airbag controller )
if I documented all the problems we had with bmws vs Japanese cars... U would change ur mind instantly.
Did u know, BMW electronics are so sensitive that you cannot use a regular test light on it? We are currently working on an 08 650ci and it's been nothing but problems.

Control arms, electronics are covered under the warranty. I just listed stuff they replace as general maintenance.
On my G35 coupe, I had my Bose stereo go out, 2 window motors, window switch failed, 2 passenger side headlights go out, bent hood hinges and driver side seat motor all go out.
That is why I get rid of all cars before my warranty is up and get something newer.
