So what is everyone's thoughts about the closing of the canadian classifieds on this site? I am not too pleased about it. I understand that they are trying to make everything more "Streamlined", and we can use a prefix to designate canadian threads. However this will add to confusion when it comes to seeking canadian sales in my opinion.

I am not sure Phil.
In the past I would just go to "view all" in the Canadian section and you could quickly see what new articles have come for sale on the Canadian market, but so far I can't figure out how to do that quickly and easily without scanning over all the US stuff.
So unless I'm missing something, I find it sucks the proverbial big one
I do think the conditions for posting are very good now but the merging I do not like.

I'm a fan of the new rules but not of the merge with the US stuff.

I do not like the merge with the US Classifieds either.

As far as efficiency for the site, its very well done. However, when i first signed onto the forums, I was pretty stoked at the Canadian Classifieds, now it does seem like more work.

Some forums don't have regional classidieds at all though...

Sorry guys, we ran into an unexpected hiccup with the [Canada] "view all".
It is being worked on & I'm hoping to get it sorted out soon.

Agreed the view all for Canada only was great. No chance i am doing that for the US and wade through an hour a day of listings.

Unless of course they allowed posting in the Canadian section of classified links . That way we could all let each other know of Canada only parts while still having the information correlated with the rest of the world.

Regional section is a good idea, I don't see why not.

^ we're definitely not going down that road, thats exactly what we're trying to avoid in all the regionals.

Yes, is a big departure from what we're used to....
but once we sort out the 'quick pic' the [Canada] items will pop up to the top.

Even the way it is now, it's only a couple of clicks....
If you're looking to buy 19" wheels, just go to the 'display options' & pick FS[Canada]: & they will pop up.

The reason for the change is a HUGE demand for other regional sales.
There was no way the system could handle more sections like the "Canadian Classifieds"
The result is that we had to reinvent the wheel.

...it's pretty naked right now though, until we start getting [Canada] data.
But if you give it some time to develop, I think you'll find we gain functionality rather than lose
