Looks like this is the route I'm going... unless something else lands in my lap. I talked to Swivel yesterday and it definitely sounded like the way to go.

Thanks for the advice!

While at the auto body supply shop, I picked up a flyer sorta thing for a new shop: www.tuningfactory.ca on 32nd ave NE. If anyone's feeling adventurous, they claim to do all sorts of things that we are interested in, though I don't see actual tuning or dyno on the list, LOL! The carry Motul, AEM, Greddy and specialize in:

^Hahaha. Make sure you bring cash too. They don't take Debit or Credit card??? We all gotta start somewhere though. It is nice to not see Civics and Cobalts on the list though. Seems like they want to work with less conpact and more sport bias vehicles. Hopefully they get up and running, its nice to have choice.

Question

With those ultra quiet resonators- would I get them to cut out the stillen resonators and install these in their place?

Do you know of a pic of your system laid out or an under car shot? It'd be nice to see where you have room both inline in the system and under the car.

Success!

An update about my exhaust issues: More for the lay-person than the experienced G surgeon.

Made a few calls to sort out an installation of some resonators that Keith had recommended... apparently in stock and ready to purchase at MOPAC. Okay, so they're good to go- where do I get them installed? I called up the first shop that showed up in google- Unlimited Performance and Exhaust. Asked the guy on the phone about installing resonators that I purchased elsewhere- and he said they'd rather put on the parts they sell. Okay, so how much for those. "I don't know off hand, but we're putting a similar set on another G later this week." Okay... so how much to get those put on. "I'm not really sure... 5-600 bucks total I think?" Okay... so when can you do that? "I think we're busy... two weeks maybe?"

Wow. Okay... well I think we know how that ended up.

So I poked around a bit more and saw some pretty good things about Carline- particularly the one near Chinook. The lady who took the call was knowledgeable about their products and encouraged me to come in any time. An hour later (including my drive from Okotoks) my car was on a hoist and one of their techs zoomed in on my problem. He said frankly "I have no idea why you're here (and he didn't... the lady just asked if they could get me in the hoist and he said yes- the hail mary of service requests), but I can pretty much guaranty you that this is it." He pointed at a pretty significant leak happening at the joints for the extension pipe on both sides just forward of the stillen resonators- they were clamped instead of welded. "The noise coming from this would drive a person crazy. We'll weld it and see if that takes care of it... we have to start somewhere. If not, we'll look at resonators."

In as much time as it took a welder to drag his setup over... the work began. 5 minutes later- following a leak check that revealed an ever so small gap and a proportionate amount of ribbing between the two guys- it was fixed. I mean... FIXED.

So for what it's worth- I do appologize for ragging on Stillen because now it sounds awesome and I didn't have to dampen my performance at all to mitigate the evil rasp. Gord, I'm sorry I ever doubted your advice!

Earlier, I asked if there was a good exhaust shop out there that people would recommend in Calgary... and for what my opinion is worth as a lay-person CARLINE on 58th Ave and Macleod near Chinook gets an A+++++

My experience with Unlimited was pretty poor but mostly as a result of my impatient nature.

Oh yes, and I should mention as well that I got the car in to Visions again for a Sirius head unit that basically just straps onto the Pioneer head unit- and Dan in the shop did the work for me again. Done in about an hour- looks absolutely clean and he remembered the car and the work he had already done. I'm in Monday to get that sub box built and firing forward through the seat. The guy is a straight shooter and he'll tell you what's best for you even if it's not the most expensive (or easiest to install.)

So Visions on MacLeod Trail... A++++ again!

Glad things are coming together for you Eno. I've talked with Unlimited before regarding an exhaust for the Expedition but they were too expensive for the likes of me to deal with. And I had my Z-mid extended/installed at a place called A-1 Carline Muffler over in the Ramsay area - probably a completely different outfit.

Different outfit, but apparently they all fall under the same umbrella. I've only seen good things about the 3 carlines in Calgary. (Might be more now?)

And yes- piece by piece Gord. Bumper is next- I find out on Thursday if it'll come together. Professional Autobody is going to take a crack at it- they specialize in FG.

Here's hoping- it'll look amazing.

Still in the market for spacers- at least 20 rear and 25 front. Hopefully doing that rear fender roll too sometime this week to make some room.

I'm glad you got your exhaust issues fixed. It looks like the fender roller is available whenever, so we'll just have to figure out a time.

Let me know if you give up on the search for spacer as I'd be willing to take those sedan wheels off your hands.

Eh Ding... Anytime between now and then will be good. Now being tomorrow and then being Thursday night!

Looking forward to it!

PS.

How many washers do I need to throw on existing studs to simulate a spacer so that I at least LOOK cool for the Mini-meet in edmonton?
