Speaking of which; My Access port **** the bed yesturday. Reads "Fatal error. Contact customer support." with a cute little access port guy with X's for eyes. Awww... ****ty part is i was data logging different maps and am stuck in Stage 2 91+ with 2 degrees advance. Car runs great, but under heavy accelleration i'm running avg. 12.1 A/F and as rich as 10.5! Better rich than lean i guess... I'll scan tool the ign. back 2 degress for now, but it won't help the fuel.

Eh guys. Something that cropped up on conversation at this meet last weekend was changing the timing. I thought at first they were talking about moving their watches forward to which I smugly thought to myself "a bit late for that now, boys."
Then I realized they were talking about something to do with the car- I heard the expressions "easy" and "mad horsepower" and decided that maybe I'd inquire about how I might have such a thing done. No more accidental low grade fuel fillups though, I hope!
Also, Thrilla- sorry I didn't get straight back to you on that... I wasn't too sure of the answer but looks like someone landed that for me.

For the curious: The guy who did the 2 degree timing advance is can350z, I think his name is Randy and he's from Red Deer, you can probably contact him on my350z.com.
Ian you probably want to check with Cam before doing that (others chime in?) since it may mess with your tune and/or it's already part of your tune.

Incase anybody cares, Cobb sent me an update and repaired my access port. TOP NOTCH service from those guys!
As far as the 2* advance, "mad horsepower" deffenitely doesnt come to mind. However, while reading a/f with and without 0*, 1* and 2* advancements, the data log shows a more complete burn with the advance after roughly 5000 rpm.

I think a timing advance would be pointless with a custom tune since that is one of things that you change when tuning. You might even lose power if the timing has been advanced more than 2deg already with your tune . As far as I know 2deg advance is a safe bump for people that have no method of tuning, however when getting a tune the timing would be advanced to an optimum setting to make the most safe power. I would guess it would be more than 2deg.
Swivel is correct you should talk with your tuner before changing things like timing if you don't know what your doing it could cause problems one of those problems could be a lean issue and that can = holes in your pistons.
I have also heard COBB has great support and quick turnarounds.
