Mod Shop... Calgary?
^^ Had a tune? From what I've read, headers don't get you much on our cars. You have the rest of the exhaust, plus spacer, you'd likely get more benefit from a tune at this point.
BC coils seem to get the best reviews for around a grand.

I don't know the pricing, check with Sylvan or red35 on price, or just phone the shop. I'm sure there must be tuner shops in Calgary, just this thread didn't come up with one.
Can anybody else confirm a tune is probably thrilla's next best step?

ya the site says that the base line would be 120 for 3 runs including setup. and then 80/hour for tuning.. this is my first car that im starting to try and tune in a way. so im not to familiar what or how long the tuning process and how much dyno time i would need to book.

Hey Thrilla. I'm running almost the same car as you (06)... I went with coilovers as well- with the intent of trimming out the car a bit better. Problem I've run into is that I've been warned that if you don't get a "pillowtop" variety coilover that they can "clunk" and rattle a bit with the endlinks... Frankly, very little of what I just said really means anything to me- except for that's what I was told. Even with the lower settings, apparently it really stiffens up an otherwise "infiniti" ride...
I also added a Cob tuner to my compliment... sounds like that's a valuable addition- especially with the mod list I'm seeing on your posts.
Like swivel said... the dollar to HP return on headers doesn't sound worth it. It might be if you were going to do your Turbo... which with an AT even I'm REALLY hesitant to do. I'm all for "more go than show," but Turbo is taking it a bit farther than I want. Perhaps you're in a different situation.
What I want to emphasize is that the guys at LSI are incredible- though they're getting busy. Talking to the shop foreman- he was saying there were two days this month where the dyno wasn't occupied. On the plus side, they got some new software specific for Nissan (infiniti) products and they're calibrating that now. That will ensure really accurate tuning on our platform. I took the hour and a half trip to Red Deer and it was quick and painless. We ran into a couple of issues and the guys there were very quick to accommodate me... no complaints! I look forward to dealing with them again.
I haven't had any luck finding too much help in the Calgary area- though people are willing to work on it I'd rather go to the experts. I'm pretty sure judging by some of those mods, you're the same.
Not sure if this helps?
Glad you guys made it down to Red Deer- sorry I couldn't be there. I'm up here at work again for awhile

hey itnkicn i will deff try to set up a tune with LS1 within the next couple of months..
I dont think that a turbo will be in the car anytime soon or if at all.
Can you explain a bit more about the cobb tuner. I was just on the site reading about the different accessports that are avaiable and its not realling licking the idea of having a spacer test pipes or after market tube. Saying it will compromise the calibration and possibly the engine.
so how abouts are u using the cobb?
thanks in advance

Eh Thrilla... I just drive the parts- I need someone else to explain them

I'm not sure that I could get into the specifics the way some of these other guys can. They said "You go fast." I said "Throw it in."

Lightspeed Innovations can get what ever you want, I think Tein Basics are under $1000 and BC coils are about $1000 or a little over. I also see your asking about the COBB tuner it will work fine with your mods Cam at Light Speed can custom tune them if the base map in the COBB dosent work for you he would know how much time tuning requires. He can be hard to get ahold of though he is very busy try cam@lightspeedinnovations.com if you want a call back leave him your number there. Great guy but like I said hard to get ahold of. You can try calling there as well 403-346-7960 ask for Cam the lady that answers the phone may try to help you insist on speaking with Cam about tuning.....trust me on this one, but like i said it may be hard to get him on the phone his message list is a mile long. I have said it before i have made several of his house payments with the cash I have dropped at his shop and I don't even call backs all of the time. But once you get ahold of him he takes care you.

so iv been trying to find some info between the different ecu tunes out there..
im not sure what to think between the cobb, utec, and osiris.
I just read a few reviews saying that the ppl were disappointed with cobb.
I know that red had a utec for his N/A. how did you find it to be??
Im sure LSI will have no problem tuning it but im wondering was it worth the $$$ to get and use? or is Cobb the way to go with the proper tune.
i dunno what to do or get anymore

You might get more answers to this type of specific question in other parts of the forum. Not to mash on you or anything- but more people are in the tech area forums talking about this stuff than you'll find here. This is kind of a pocket of guys in Alberta talking LSI / meet related stuff. We deviate, but most of these guys know each other really well so can go back and forth on each other easily.
These guys KNOW their stuff... and I'm sure a couple could answer- but you won't get the sheer volume of information that you might get from the multiple users in other thread areas.
I sent you a pm with the info you requested. As expected, most of it is explaining why I know nothing!

Red35 had a utec tuned by Lightspeed he got rid of it, I know the tuner (Cam) at Lightspeed didnt think it was a good system either. You have to pay to have the utec installed and a custom tune where as the COBB just plugs in they do come with a base map but I would talk with Cam and possibly get a custom tune if the base map is not that good? No one in Alberta can tune Osiris so thats not really an option. I wonder if the guys with the COBB that are disappointed just have base tunes or if they have custom tunes. A custom tune will be better than a base tune or a "one tune fits all" map. You need to be a certified COBB dealer to do custom tunes on them thats were it gets more expensive because you have to pay dyno & tuning time. Once Eno gets his done we will know more. I am not sure how they could be dissapointed with a COBB if it has a custom tune done by a good tuner?
