Yeah- the shop here said to bring them in before I put them on... which makes sense I suppose so they can do a bangup job. I'll look over the forums and see if there's a do it yourself for the bumper / skirts...

Anyone else able to head to LSI on the 18/19?

Are you using a paint shop in Okotoks?

^^ They let you come home? Good for you.

I'm not sure about the 18/19, probably not.

Question

I was thinking of using one of the paint / autobody shops in town- unless you've got a better suggestion? Hey, I'm all ears / eyes.

Well so far it looks okay- about 1000 bucks to get all parts fully painted, the old ones taken off- new ones put on.

I think that's reasonable? I'm not getting the word done until the week after I go to red deer. Anyone in for 18-19?

What are you getting painted again? If i told you what i paid for my bumper, sides, hood and some of my rear bumper you would cry. A 1000 seems good to me.

When you say i want it done by the end of the week cost is no object it tends to be expensive

My front bumper was $500 installed and painted it was blended into the fenders as well to fix a few of the small rock chips, I think my wheels were about $400-500 to have the barrels painted as well. I used to work at the body shop that did my work so typically I don't pay big bucks for my work. If your getting a front bumper and side skirts done for 1k that seems reasonable.

Cool

Glad to hear I'm in the ballpark. Had a K2 Bumper and Impul skirts- taking off the old, painting and placing the new. Originally it was 800 and something but then he realized that was only one of the skirts lol. Doh!

Got those wheels shipped too so they'll be waiting when I get back. Now the hunt is on for some good rubber.

As it stands- LSI 18-19 (I hope), maybe get the wheels put on that weekend, then bring it in to Visions to get the audio / video / nav in... and then drop it off at the shop and let them put that stuff on over the week I'm back up here at work. Hopefully by March I'll have a whole new car!

Okay guys... quick update. As you may already know... didn't make it to LSI this week

BUT

I'm on the schedule now officially for the 10-11 of March (Wed / Thurs).

Getting the double din on Monday, the bumper and sides after that... Got those 19's from DGS (SWEET) and now looking for rubber (probably go with 245/19/35 front 285/19/35 rear?

Was looking at those hankook ventus V12 evos... sound okay?

Well that sounds good to me.

On another note- I've hit a snag. Got a call from the shop that was painting and mounting my sides / K2... and apparently it's not going to be as easy as they thought... much more work involved and I guess the last time the fitiment wasn't great and the guy was not pleased. They actually went so far as to decline to mount it. They'll paint it... but won't put it on- I respected that... they said they weren't good at that kind of work and pointed me to a shop down the street. Okay... well now I'm back to square one again.

If any of you guys have a line on a local shop that can put this kind of after market part on... let me know. It'll be painted and ready to go... just need to find someone who knows how to do it... preferably around Calgary because it's a pain to get those large parts any place in the car.

Additionally, got the DVD nav system in the car yesterday... and it sounds great. One problem: I bought a custom sub box and amp from a guy... and through no fault of his own it turned out to be too small for the subs I got. Also, pointing in a less than useful way. So, I had to go a different route with it and upgraded the boss speakers in the front instead and bought a new amp that could be expanded to feed a sub at a later date.

I'm still in for the 10th and 11th... hopefully we'll see a few guys down there if scheduling allows!
