G35s with that millage go for 20K+. its much cheaper to do what i did. i know its hastle but id rather pay 2k for a new engine then lose 7k for trading in for a newer g35. plus i have a freshly rebuilt tranny. so i have a young engine and good tranny. i would lose money and get a more used product just by trading my car for a newer one.

used ones go for about 500$ but usually a new clutch 300$ is needed.

brand new they go for about 1600$ USD. flywheel and clutch its about 600$. labor about 500$ all together 2700$. not that pricy when u consider rims with tires are more then 2700$ for a good set you know. plus the fact that its brand new its a big bonus. iv gotten 4k quotes from my previous tuners lmao. if anyone wants to do a tranny swap they should do it with a regular mechanic its much cheaper and most of the times its much better because regular mechanics change trannys allll the time while alll thes "tuners" act the specialist role and charge up the a*s.
someone correct me if i'm wrong but i think the center floor pan has to be changed also if your swapping tranny

Any reason to not start with a turbo car? I'm assuming it would be less hassle and money? wrx, sti, gti, etc...

Even with my stock engine and TT I would demolish all of the above cars even highly modified ones.

No doubt, I guess it just takes a lot more work cause our internals, tranny, brakes, etc were not made for it.... moded STi or evo could probably give you a run for your money? the g is so heavy

pretty sure a modded sti can do high 12's easy, like to see a stock G35 engine with TT setup do 12's. might have the power but it would either be to heavy or no traction. just show me a video of a G doing 12's with a stock engine. also lets not forget the EVO. they are fast with minor/simple turbo upgrade kits. high 10's low 11's......
just saying there would be no demolishing! thats all.

red35 and I both do 12s on street tires with stock engines, I have friends with modded evos and modded STIs I could work them. The only one to work me ran 12.3 at the track and he would get me from a dig from a 30kph roll I would just keep pulling away.

ekkk, what have I started lol...... dont get me wrong, I love my G but I take it for what it is, mid-luxury 5.5-6 sec 0-60 car......

I agree with exwrx completely, i have some friends that haven't put in nearly as much work or money into their sti/evo as i've researched on this forum and they're going plenty fast.....

however TT G sounds sexy, any pics or vids sylvan??

Here is mine on a stock engine running 13.04 if you listen you can hear the traction control kicking in after each shift I forgot to pull the fuse or I would have been in the 12s this is my only track video a guy from a local Nissan club took it. That is a Shelby GT500 in the other lane, always nice to leave one of them behind you.

Not to completely de-rail the thread but 1/4 mile times are one facet of the world of racing.

Yes - a tt g35 coupe does relatively well in a 1/4 mile race but look at the all fast laps of the most well known tracks in the world - not a g35 to be seen.

i loved my turboed G!! and no doubt in my mind that a properly tuned G can hit high 12s with stock internals. cars are a personal taste and i really want a turboed G just isnt going to happen at the moment. between school and that car and being 22 lol i cant really afford to keep fixing the car if anything goes wrong and my first experience went so bad im still gainging confidence in the car just with bolt ons hahaha. for now full boltons with the haltech will do. LSD and cams for the summer, got some new light weight rims and fixing/ upgrading my suspension atm.
