Canadian Clocks

I checked with service at my dealer today re the availability of the new clocks that are on the current G35s with the thicker, more readable hands. He has a part number and a replacement cost of over $360 plus labour and taxes!
I called Infiniti Canada 1-800-361-4792.
They told me that there is no Canadian bulletin out to replace the clocks despite the free replacement campaign in the US and was therefore responsible for my own costs. A future campaign was possible but as far as the customer rep that I spoke with, she was not aware of any complaints about the readablility of the clocks other than mine and a future campaign would be based on the numbers of logged complaints. I urge any of you that have issues with this to phone them and insist that we Canucks be treated the same as our US neigbours!

Re: Canadian Clocks

I'll ask my dealership when I bring the car in real soon. Supposedly they ordered a clock for me to be replaced but they never called me and I was always to busy to call them or bring the G35 in. I will do it real soon though.

It's still a G thang!!

Rumble:

Call Infiniti Canada if you can as well. See what they say and register the issue on their data base. Maybe we can all get this done!

Re: Canadian Clocks

Gordgee, This issue about the clocks concerns all the original 2003 Sedans at least. Do you know if that issue extends into the 2003.5's or any Coupes?
My new Coupe has the new clock and is legible and brighter at night.
Sounds like all the original Sedan owners need to phone in and register a complaint to get Infiniti off their duffs.

Re: Canadian Clocks

The new clocks that I've seen in the sedan have noticeably thicker hands. Much easier to read. Not sure if they are brighter or not. I thought most of the early Coupes still had the skinny hands as well. The increased brightness might have only been an interim solution prior to them redesigning the clock (or to use up the supply of skinny hands) I'm not sure if I'd just like it skinny but brighter as it would reflect more off the windshield at night. I find my clock hard to read sometimes during the day when the hands are at a certain angle to the light shining on them.

I think all of us with the original 'skinny' hand clocks should complain!

Re: Canadian Clocks

This is the (US) TSB referncing the "Clock Problem".
Apparently the new clocks run slighty faster than the old ones !!

Re: Canadian Clocks

I had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago at Alta Infiniti in Toronto. The clock is easier to read in the day and at night - the original looked better, but marginal legibility made it less useful. I had to report a problem reading the clock, which allowed Alta to log a customer-initiated complaint (there is no automatic recall). They ordered a new one, called me when it was in and scheduled the replacement. It took about an hour and was free.

Re: Canadian Clocks

I have a fairly early Coupe (3xxx VIN) and it has the thick hands... haven't had any problems reading it at night.
