For the price of repair for a couple hundred more dollars you could have a Double Din kit. Whenever I took mine out to replace it with a DD kit it had a re-manufactured sticker on the top...so, I wouldn't even waste my money on repairing it.
Do a search, lots of info on this issue and getting a DD kit..
there's a jdm oem kit that you can get from riverdale infiniti in the states which is quite pricey or you can get an aftermarket Metra kit but it's kinda nasty...
from there you'll have to research what kind of system you want.... I got a kenwood dxn8120 and love it... garmin navi so i can update it every year, bluetooth, rear camera, steering wheel control, etc etc....

Any idea what the cheapest I could get this fix? As it replace the unit. Having it install.
Don't want to ditch out too much money because I might be selling the car in a yr or two.

My Bose CD player began giving an error message and would not play a CD. I banged on the side of the console and it began working again but would give an error message when I started out on another trip. I solved this problem by keeping a music CD in the player that I burned on my computer. Just by keeping a CD in the player all the time there have been no more error messages. I have made many trips over rough roads since then and my CD player continues to work without problems.

Cost wise your better off finding a used OEM deck if your selling the car. If you're keeping it it will cost you probably a Grand to get an OEM DOUBLE DIN bracket and a DD deck.
