Bought a Niftyshifty Boot!......
If your worried about tearing the rubber, it pushes down easily (not really easily but it will push down) and its not very hard to undo the four bolts that hold it down and pop it up either will work.
RBull THANKS!!!! that's pretty much like my setup. I had everything out and vice grips on and it still didn't work I guess I'll just have to just keep on trying the thing is its the rubber boot then right after that its the plastic ring held by the zip tie.....I don't know like I said I'd rather someone show me than me do it but I'll eventualy muster up the courage to do this.

Well I "grew a pair" like Ian said and finished it Sun morning, it looks great! I'll post some pics soon.....I'm actually falling behind in the picture department I don't have a pic of my car with the Gialla grille, black housing Headlights, Carbon fibre door trim on the handles and now the shift boot.
