Whoops. Yeah you have to move the lower collar down, so it squishes the spring.

At least your diving in head first. Most people aren't willing to learn on their own, it takes ten times as long but you get a definite sense of what's going on with your car.

I agree. I'm going to go try the 1 more quarter inch as the guy from BC recommended and leave it at that...

I know us noo8s can be frustratingly full of questions... thing is I kind of figured out how to do what I need to do insofar as the direction but I'm not entirely sure what tension is actually being applied between the shock tube and the spring perch. I'll post when I'm done and see where I end up.

ya sorry the way it was worded was wrong toward the car makes less spring tention toward the ground makes more tention. If it rattles up by the rear seat try tightening the 2 nuts that hold the shock to the car up there. Red35 had the same noise when he snapped off one of those studs so yours might just be loose.

Yeah one step ahead of ya Gord... that DEFINITELY sounds like the area the sound is coming from but they're on there guttentoit. I still have my suspicions that it's something in that immediate area causing it. Unfortunately, I can't put my finger on what work I did (er... had done) that resulted in this noise... I've never noticed it before. Seems it was after the alignment was done.

I'm down the additional quarter inch and no change... so I'm at the limit of my expertise I think. Question now- I have a half inch more spring tension on the one side- and I'm hesitant to dork with the other side because for all intents and purposes it isn't making a racket and I don't want to exacerbate things. Should I be evening them out on both sides or is it just accommodating different ride tension from one side to the other and staying relatively balanced?

Cause I have mad tyte engrish skillz Gord. Haha.

Try your best to make each side even ride height wise.

This just dawned on me, I remember reading somewheres about someone with a sedan having a similar problem. I think the noise was caused by some plastic and metal contact behind the seat. Search through some rattle exorcism threads to see if someone is having a similar problem. God knows there's a few.

Hmmmmm you might be on to something... I know when I dork with the seat I do get a little sum'n sum'n when I push / pull on it... Wonder if I got some sticky rubbery things (technical term from now on) if I could buffer that? I'll check it out!

Thanks swivel. I'm fishing around the suspension tech area too but this is a good lead.
