We're lucky to have found and nab it quickly after going on the market.

Holy crap Deane, that is absolutely incredible!!!

With the little I've been on here lately, I've completely missed this thread. Wowzers, what a gorgeous piece of property!!!! You and Heather must be soooooooo excited to move in. I spoke to Heather briefly on the phone today, and if I would of known of your purchase at that point I would of given her a hearty congrats on the purchase.

Congratulations to you both, very well deserved!!

Btw, sorry for the game of phone tag we've been playing lately. At this point, I think you're it.

Are you living in your new place by the sea now, Deane? If so, how is it?

Hey Craig,

We got the place June 30. We've been there weekends but spent all last week there while I was on vacation. We have an apartment in town close to our work for the next year while doing renos and until retirement.

My carport garage conversion is nearly done and I'll post pics in a week or so.

I took a few pictures from last week and will post them up in the next few days.

We're loving it.

Cool. Congrats on the closing, and I hope the renos and the retirements go smoothly.

We're getting serious in our "retirement property" shopping - hope to have something in the works soon. More to come if it firms up.

Thanks. Right now we feel we found our shangri la. The gardens/grounds, the beach, the vistas, the sunsets, the wildlife, the privacy....house will be a compromise after our last place but after some renos it will serve us fine.

Good luck on your shopping. Can't wait to see how things go for you.

Definitely subscribed to see some summertime pics and renos. Deane, you and H must feel like you are living in PARADISE at that place! So beautiful, and I'm sure you are both looking forward to getting moved in permanently next year!

^Thanks Shane.

Yes, we'll definitely be happy to be permanently settled. Two places and lots of upheaval isn't my cup of tea.

Here are a couple of pics from last week.

morning mist clearing

morning mist again

and more at low tide

from the main deck

and more

late sunset

I was a little late with this sunset...

Canada Geese -47 nesting in the tidal inlet on our property- always around

another pic from the main deck

and one from the living room

leaving the tidal inlet- many times a day- along with the ducks- taken from gazebo

gazebo from one of the bedroom balconies- please excuse the ladder/power cord

my honey at the deck fire pit

late night fire on the deck along with a cool drink!

some of the brush from limbing one of the overgrown apple trees

and more

Thanks Shane. I just put a couple of more pictures up.

I took down 17 trees the past week and did major limbing to another half dozen. Stained the outdoor cedar shakes on the garage- 2 coats and painted the garage interior 2 coats, pressure washed one set of stairs and stained them to match the 1200 sq ft deck......working vacation.
