Well the first part of renovations is nearly done. The carport has been converted to a garage with storage/workshop in the back.
The exterior is eastern white cedar shake stained to match the house and the interior is exterior grade 1/2 plywood painted white to brighten it up. The outside corner were done in Azek composite board with new soffit, and fascia cladding. The door is a Garaga R16 - 16'x7' with 3/4 hp opener with battery back up. Windows have LEA and insulation is R20 walls with R40 ceiling and there is electric heat with the 2 separate zones. I put in 8 32W T8tubes for lighting plus the 120W door opener in the main parking area. Outside there are 2 pigtail halogen security lights.

The man door has since been taken out and reinstalled to correct a excessive foam expansion and there's a few other items outstanding including eaves trough but its pretty well done.

Oh and the bat house on the back exterior is still there. Maybe that's why there are very few mosquitoes around the property.

Next up is building a workbench and storage shelving.

Here's a picture of a snowball bush beside the garage and driveway. One of the larger ones I've seen around here.

Nice work!!

Around here, code says you can only use drywall on a garage interior due to its fire rating vs plywood or OSB, particularly on attached garages. Different on the East Coast?

^Thanks. I only did the painting and had a contractor(s) do the rest.

Attached garages here too. I don't really know anything about the code since that garage has been there quite a few years.

It's one of five I have found on the property. There are 2 other pretty big ones both limited by crowding and 2 smaller ones very crowded with other plantings.

Here are a few more pictures from this weekend, some from different vantage points.

a couple looking south coming up the driveway just before the garage

looking south at morning fog clearing taken from the bedroom sitting room deck

both from the dining room
looking southeast from the bedroom deck[IMG]
looking southwest and then south from the bedroom sitting area balcony

looking east from the dining room

looking northeast from the front porch at the M Coupe and another large snowball hydrangea behind it
