Retirement Property - REVISED LOCATION
Geez, first it was Tatamagouche, then it was Bathurst (I didn't even post anything on that one..which was on a beautiful long white sandy beach with marina 2km away) and now it's the real deal.
Last Sunday while searching Kijiji real estate I came upon a listing...as of Thursday we have a contract and it's ours July 20.
Have some word of mouth feelers out for our current house but this new one happens regardless.
The new spot is in Musquodoboit Harbour about 35 minutes from Dartmouth on the Eastern Shore. We'll planning to keep an apartment while we're working here in town. It's a contemporary home with some beautiful touches that needs some updating, a main floor addition with attached garage and a carport waiting to be converted to an extra garage/workshop.
I'm working on this stuff already as I managed to get the original blueprints, plot plan etc..
My wife and I are very excited. It's a stunning 2.9 acre oceanfront property with roughly 400 feet direct frontage, private beach and about another 400 feet on a large inlet. The harbour opens to the Atlantic of course. It's 2km from a hospital, grocery store, and the trans Canada trail for running; and local marina isn't too far either. Hundreds of kms of spectacular coastline/peninsulas with fantastic twisty roads to tool around on right by home await the red weekend warrior. We bought from the original owner- a doctor/professor who built it 26 years ago and is retiring to Cape Breton to her other home.

Very nice Deane. Congrats.
Heck I just learned how to get to your last retirement property
..
Looks like a great spot. I just finish scanning the maps and I found the exact location of the property. Sweet, sweet location. You definitely will need a Rosborough

Thanks Wayne.
LOL, your vehicle will stay clean getting to this one. Off main road onto paved private lane and onto paved drive.
Yes, the location is great. It's dead centre looking down the harbour so we're seeing land undulations both sides and a couple of small islands. On one of my pics you can see ice fishermen. About 2kms beyond the place up the harbour it's open water where it doesn't freeze.
Would love to have a Rosborough. However, newbie would be an understatement when it comes to my boat knowledge. Definitely have to unload the other places and more to even dream of that though.

Thanks Wayne. It seems we lucked out. Places like this one are hard to find around here and especially within our limited budget.

Thanks Ian & Pat.
We're excited. We've done so many about faces in the past couple of years I am happy to get some "closure" and able to focus on something. This one has tons of parking area and I should be able to get my 2 garages.

It looks like you landed the perfect place.

That car port should make a great 2nd garage.
From the pics, it looks like the basics are all there for the project.
