OEM Parts -30mi/48km service

Hey folks,

Have my 48,000km maintanence coming up and was looking to pick up a bunch of OEM parts for it.

Here is a listing of the parts I plan on getting (good for reference, appologies for the format which isn't kept):

HTML Code:
Part Name Part #	# Required

Manual Tranny Fluid	999MP-MTF00P	4
Differential Oil 999MP-DF100P	2
Air Filter 16546-0Z000	1
In Cabin Filter 999M1-VP051	1
Oil Filter and Washer	15208-65F00	3
Alternator & Fan Belt	11720-4P102	1
Compressor Belt 11920-AG900	1
Washer for Oil Filter	11026-01M02	3
*Note I priced out getting extra oil filters for future use

Comparitivly

Calling the local dealership vs. a Buffalo dealership the BASE price is about 20% cheaper BEFORE taxes/and exchange rate, so closer to 28% after from the US.

An online parts place is an additional approx 10% cheaper than the US dealer SHIPPED to a US address.

The price shipped to Canada is (unbelievably)pretty much the same as well.. however it's shipped via UPS. So they will take on brokerage, admin, taxes, unicorn and candy fees.

I don't know what the rules are posting prices, therefore I've used %'s.

But realistically:

- JUST to go to the states, the savings aren't there (time and gas prices)

- To ship it home from the online place who knows what you're going to pay with UPS. A group buy between a few people to split costs may make more sence.

So after posting my findings.. Where does everyone buy their Nissan parts from?

Give Dave a call if you're really looking to get OEM parts. There's a thread in the Canada section so do a search and you'll find his contact.

IMO, a lot of those items on your list can be replaced with better aftermarket stuff and call it a day. Definitely not worth a trip all the way to Buffalo just to pick up items for your oil change/flush.

Thanks - sent him an email @ automania@rogers.com Will check the prices vs. aftermarket.

Don't like messing around with aftermarket for tranny and diff fluid. Read lots of little issues over the years and various cars that I have no time to play around with. And for the amount I drive OEM is just fine.

Cheers!

I will be going with Amsoil for Tranny and Differential. Oil filter will be by K & N HP1008 I believe is the model # and the alternator belt & compressor belt i am having replaced with OEM parts for $90.

Last remaining parts are Air Filter and InCabin filter, any specific types that are better than others? Should I just go OEM?

My $0.02.
Are you guys changing belts just because it's in the manual or because an inspection of them has deemed them needing a replacement?
I'm at 61k now and my mechanic (a Nissan guy) recently said mine are still perfectly fine.
Filters I do upon my own inspection as well.
Anyway... I always get a few thing from www.autopartsway.ca They are fast, reliable and local. They may not be as low priced as some sites, but you will see your order the next day.

I change my belts if I see any severe cracks developing on the ribs of the belt.

Belts were going to be ordered if putting in an order from the US, and then replaced when necessary down the road. Fluids are getting done for sure.

Thanks for the link!
