Mexico, WTF??
I just came across this story where a woman was recently beat in an elevator. According to CBC, virtually every bone in her face has been shattered and she's currently in a coma. WTF is going on in Mexico the last few years??? My wife and I got married in Mexico back in 2005 and you never heard of this type of **** going on then. Were not even finished January and there have been a couple of Canadians killed already down there.....and now this.

I was watching the news today when they said some other Latin American country like Honduras or Bolivia or something like that has now become the most dangerous place in the world because of the drug war...the police in that country seized $3B in drugs when the entire GDP of the country was $5B

We just back from Mexico on Saturday..We have gone to Mexico the last 7 years every January..That being said we stay at an all inclusive 1 hr south of Cancun. We have never felt that our safety was at risk...I know, I know...But i must say that we fell more at risk going to areas in Vancouver...Im hoping that the truth of what happened to this women comes to light....We try to propect ourselves the best we can and to be aware or our surroundings...

^ She was actually there with her husband. I don't know how she ended up alone. I refuse to go to Mexico because of all this stuff going on. I'm sure that those people that were killed also had the mond frame that "it's safe, nothing ever happened to me there." Think about a lot of stuff that happens and we don't hear about. To me it's not worth the risk.

If you're scared of something happening to you then you should just build a bunker and hide in it for the rest if your life. Truth is that $hit is always happening everywhere. Doesn't matter what country or continent you're on. It's a risk EVERYONE takes EVERYDAY.

I'm off to the Mayan Riviera in 2days for 5 week holiday. We go in the area MrWizard just came back from.
most of this stuff is occurring on the other side of Mexico on the Pacific side.
With this woman, the couple had went to bed, then she got up and eventually they found her in the elevator beaten up. What the heck , why did she get up and leave her hubby in bed, after they retired for the evening, seems strange.
Anyways, I am not concerned, it is also our 7 th year there and we feel safe, to be honest, much safer than travelling to Florida.
