I thought most people tried to do that the other way around to save money....

I would go to freshalloy and get in contact with some of the dealers that post there. They seem to be very friendly and helpful!

Concur with previous post ref cheaper here- Only advantage to US car is that you can buy all exterior colours with either interior colour. Otherwise, you can buy the same car for more money, or you can buy less car for the same price. Strongly recommend you build & price on the infiniti dot ca and dot com sites to compare before wasting money. Note that sunroof, sound system, auto climate control... are options or part of optional pkgs on the US car. Also, having read the other forums, it seems (not sure but...) that waiting period is shorter here north of the border.

My partner was looking at bringing in a US car. Need to change the cluster, install daytime running light module and ungrade the bumpers to meet our safety requirements. Big bucks by the time you are done. We are buying way under US dollars, you could put a first rate paint job on one for way less.

How do you "ungrade" a bumper to meet safety requirements?

Your point is a good one, P9pete. While I am unsure of what is involved for the G, I know that a few years ago, the differences for my Corrado btwn CA and US involved lighting, emissions, and safety (same bumper deal- US foglamps were a no go for CA, for example). These differences can be more than a small issue, dollar wise, and they are specific to each car model- worth investigating before committing to a car from out of country. Funny that the Yanks are just now getting onto DRLs.

Royken, we have 5 kph bumpers, special shocks on them etc. This change costs more than a cluster. Our bumpers will absorb the shock of a hit up to 5 kph with these shocks. Icy road conditions where you slowly slide into other vehicles was the reason for this feature.
