buy at one dealer, service at another?
buy at one dealer, service at another?
Does anybody know whether there is any problem I might run into if I buy a G35 at an out-of-town dealer and then get it serviced at my local dealer? I know they should be happy to charge me for service and even do warranty work, but I've never exactly understood how the loaner cars are paid for. Are they paid for through high service costs or are they paid for in the original price of the car? Nothing in this world is free.
thanks
thanks

Thats quite an interesting question. The answer to that is quite simple and is usually obvious. I'm surprised that one would even ask such as question.Let me tell you this..the warranty is provided by the car manufacturer, not by the dealership, therefore of course although its the dealership providing you with a loaner car, the dealership is covered and taken care of by full reimbursement by the car manufcaturer. In this can Nissan/Infiniti Canada. Why is it that you are evening worried about a loaner car?

Actually, it can get a little fuzzy. Officially, you get a loaner for any warranty service that requires at least 2 hours of labor, and never for something as little as an oil change.
It is possible that some dealers will be more lenient and give you a loaner for, say, a 1-hour job -- but maybe not if you didn't buy the car from them. You might also be able to get other perks.. such as a year of free oil changes from the selling dealership. Maybe, maybe not.
I bought my car through my local dealership. I got one free oil change. When my cd-player jammed, they said it was a 45-minute job and wouldn't give me a loaner, so I waited at the dealership for an hour and a half for them to finish my car.
I wouldn't worry about which dealership I bought from vs. which dealership I service at. The only reason I didn't shop around is because all 3 Infiniti dealerships within 100 miles of me were the same company.
