I run my rides on 91 and they've performed well so far. The C/R on the M is a little higher at 10.6:1 but I'm expecting 91 to be fine. It's all that's required.
We had low 90's/liter here a while back but generally it's in the 75-85 cent range.
Great looking ride Deane. I've still got a soft spot for red. In many ways I miss it, having lived with it for over 25 yrs.
Too much reflection to see you behind the wheel. We'll have to wait for a better picture.
Trim-Line looks like a good outfit with good product. If you can get all that coverage for $500, go for it. That's a good price. Here they wanted another $400 to do the bumper.

Whew I only wish we could see anything close to 75 cents even for regular.
I'm impressed the c/r is that high in the M. It's very well tuned and tweaked then. If I recall correctly the 428CJ was either 10.6 or 10.7 also back in '69.
Yeah I was kind of kidding about seeing me in the pic. I had actually forgotten I was in the pic until after I originally posted it yesterday after finding it on my computer. I forgot it was there too.
I looked carefully at all the colours before buying and liked a number of them. I really liked Silverstone as well but was leaning toward a lighter interior since I don't like the heat at all after having one solid black in the mid 80's.
We'll see about the bra. I've got some major outlays coming up within months so need to be tight with the bucks!

I'm relieved.
I got the same clear bra installed today that Wayne has: 3M Trim-Line (across the leading edge of the hood and onto the fenders) and got the mirrors covered for free because I went there (Mississauga) for the install.
I'll post some pics when she's a little cleaner to show their handiwork.
......and then the body kit from Yorkville INfiniti....can't wait for that.
Great drive to 3M Trim-Line at Dixie and Drew in Mississauga. Just dusty and no wet. Lucky.
Thanks for the pic. It helps to whet my appetitie for that aero kit.

Thanks Wayne.
So we're not too far off in price from you Ontario folks. I saw in the news this morning though that its expected our prices are going to be much higher by summer like 1.00 for regular 1.06 premium.

I think it's a ploy to make us feel better about increased summer prices.
They usually forcast increases of 10% or so...
then when it only goes up 5% we actually feel good about paying more

I think there's some 'wiggle' room with pricing if you don't go thru an Infiniti dealer, and deal direct with him at the shop

Yep you guys are right with that whole hype on gas prices before every summer. The one difference nowthat is having an impact and is expected to continue for while is the price of US barrel of oil. That's affecting all of us.
Fortunately it's really boosted a couple of my oil/gas plays as well.
I know all about the bigger displacement thing. Don't forget I have a V8 Jeep Gr. Cherokee and that thing swills gas. City 14 mpg, combined 17mpg, highway 20-21. When I was towing my snowmobiles it was about 12-13 mpg on the highway.

Good morning Roman,
My name is John Arthur. We do a typical computer cut hood and fender G35 Coupe kit for
$250. Lights, mirrors and bumper can all be done at extra cost. Custom pricing is $25/per square foot. Our film is Scotchgard PPF. It has a 5 year warranty not to peel, lift, yellow, whiten, crack or discolour. Our installation is also warranted for 5 years. The film is rated to 8 years outdoor life! You can see the film on dark coloured vehicles more than lighter, however a good installation will keep it from becoming too noticeable.
You can remove the film w/ a heat gun. After this, you need to use a degreaser of sorts to remove any glue left behind. This isn't easy, but can be done in about an hour. The film is OEM approved meaning it will not harm your paints surface. If you wax your car twice a year it will help prevent the rest of your hood from wheathering too dramatically. If after many years this is the case you can polish and buff both sides of the hood to bring them to a similar appearance.
3M does not warranty impacts. They can't really...anything can hit your vehicle. The film will stop alot of rocks from chipping your paint. Sometimes rocks may break through the surface of the film, but 90% of the time they will not harm the paint underneath. It is a good product. We have been installing it for 8 years now and stand behind it 100%.
If you have any further questions,
You can email again or contact me ay 905-677-8746.
Thanks,
John
edit: some more info: i asked how much it would cost to do the whole hood. here's his reply.
__________________________________________________ _-
The entire hood would cost $500. However, 3M only manufactures a 48" roll which means the top two corners of the hood would not be covered. The area not covered is about 2 square " each side. As far as seeing it...there aren't any solutions that will seem better, including chips.
But that's just my opinion.
Take care,
John

Hi Roman, Hmmm, according to their website, the Coupe is a little cheaper to do. Maybe pricing has changed -- not sure.
In any case, he should throw in the mirror protection as he did with me. (a $50 value.)
Colin.
