i have Motul Auto tranny fluid on my acura and i can tell it feels better than the honda ATF

i replaced the tranny fluid for 40 dollars
and
if you want MOTUL synthentic oil it is about 75 dollars...all tax included

i do them at my tuner shop and they carry MOTUL products.

for my suggestion....if you are not racing then do not waste money on the 300V series, their synthentic line is already gd enough

this is just their bs saying, you don't have to listen and they do not have the right to void the warrenty because you are using some better ATF

they recommend you change fluid every 50000km and that's already a rip off, if you do drive hard and in city a lot you should change them once a year or every 20000km

i use Motul Synthentic ATF on my car and it feels great. acutally synthentic has the same lube performance as regualr mineral oil

but why synthentic? coz when you are at extreme temp they still perform the same lube to the tranny

tranny can easily get overheated under hard driving, so synthentic is way to go coz it helps protect the tranny

For the MT I agree, but not for the AT.

The Nissan ATF for this car is a specialy formulated synthetic.
Most synth makers such as Amsoil etc. do not recommend their own
product for this application.
The Nissan ATF is a different colour as well so they will know if you substitute a different product.

Hi Jerry

I can bring my car up to Yorkville and let you test my tranny. You will see what I mean. Shifting gotten hard to 1st, and 1st to 2nd, but shifting rest are really smooth (2 to 3rd, 3rd to 4th, etc.)

Prolly see you in 1st week of June, since I have an A+ OS exam next week

anyways my pt is they DO NOT have the right to VOID your warrenty by using other ATF, and this is just their BS

by law they cannot void it for such reasons

and the fluid would turn dark brown/black when you drain them out...even thou it's the color is red at the beginning.

I believe it's the Combine's Act (here in Canada) or something that says a manufacturer cannot force you to use their brand of fluids to ensure warranty coverage unless they are willing to supply you with it for free (something I remember reading). However, they can void warranty if you use a fluid that does not match or exceed their specifications, which can be very restrictive. It may be that there is no one else that makes the unique spec of the Nissan tranny fluid, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have the 2nd gear metal clunk (meaning, you can feel and hear the metal hit each other)?
I also had my tranny fluid changed by Jerry at Yorkville. I had the same problems when the engine and tranny were cold. The problem seemed to go away as the tranny warmed up, but in our climate here I found this to be unaceptable. I think the problem might be that the Motul oil is too slippery and the syncros can't mesh because they aren't slowing down enough to mesh while changing from first to second. Just my opinion.

I changed back to the Nissan tranny oil and all the problems went away.

300V are for hardcore racing, it's designed for ultra high temp resisitant

you can go for some other full syn tranny oil for daily driving rather than racing MTF

I got off the phone with my Motul rep. and he concurs: the Gear 300V is extreme temp resistant, and is extremely fluidic, there may be a notchy feeling when cold, however - most hardcore drivers appreciate the qualities of this fluid when they are pushing the car. Certain people shift in different ways. So the rep. at Motul suggested the alternate Motyl Gear, which is not as aggressive as the Gear 300V - this is a synthetic blend. I have driven many cars equipped with Gear 300V, and oddly enough I have yet to duplicate the issues as described by some of our members. But for those that exist, Motul Gear is the way to go.
