Then just pull panel off. It's held by spring clips. (10min max)
In the doors it's often the wire harness that rattles.
Get some foam weather strip with adhesive backing from Home Depot & wrap
the harness. Spiral around wire with foam side out.

I'm using B-Quiet products for dampening. Less expensive than Dynamat & from a Canadian source.
I'm using a different cellular foam product for sound barrier.
Also, using low expansion foam to fill cavities & voids.

I showed my wife your pics and told her you were doing my G next...and she freeeeeaked out!!!!....he,he...I had to take her out for a drink to calm her down.

Anyway, I'm thinking of installing Dynamat in the trunk but I heard it adds something like 20lbs. Is that true?

Pretty ambitious undertaking! Good luck and hope you don't end up with some extra screws, bolts etc at the end of it all

Be sure to take pictures at various times during the install so we can see the progression.

If it's successful, I may do the same.

I'm sure that joke will cost you more than a drink

The extra weight is not that much.
It's about 0.3 lb/sq.ft.

I bought a 50 sq.ft. roll which is enough to do the entire car.
50 sq.ft.=15lb

I catalog the parts in zip lock bags.
e.g. L.Fr door; R.Rr Door etc.....

At our next meet I'll buy a round for enery left over screw
BTW.... I have a Scottish heritage

If I may ask.. how much per sq ft did you pay?? Where did you source it from? -- sorry if you already answered either question.

PS... if you like dutch beer, try Amstel or Grolsch -- smoother

They have several products & are in Regina, so no border issues .

Now that the naked jokes are done...

I've heard that sound dampening is tough to install - so the first thought that came to mind when I saw your trunk pic was "Damn! That is one clean install". Did you do it all yourself? Is the B-Quiet easier to use than Dynamat? Most first-timers I've spoken with say that they don't like how it looks - but yours look very professional.

I just have to give a big ROFL to that guy a couple posts above me that asked if this was 3rd stage weight reduction. HA ha ha... that made me laugh. He's right though, you should just install a race seat and see what kind of times it puts up!! LOL

Hi Al, I did not find it too difficult....
It just takes a little thought to cut the piece to suit the shape of the panel.
You have to work with the curves as opposed to across them.
After the first couple of pieces, you get the hang of it.
Never used Dynamat so can't really compare....

LOL 3rd stage weight reduction....
Looks more like it got left on a vacant lot too long
