How many litres per fillup?

I was comparing km's per tank the other day with a friend with a ' 03 540.
I told him I thought I got about 425 km per tank and that usually a fillup was about 58 litres so I thought my tank was about 60l. We discussed his car getting about that on a 70l tank (and he drives that v8 HARD) and he said a buddy's new TL got 550k per tank. So I looked up the TL's capacity (65l) and then when to Infiniti.ca to check out ours. Imagine my surprise to find out it was 76l! Why does my fuel light come on and a fillup is only 54l? Why would it come on when I have 22 litres left?

So my questions are: Do you wait till the fuel light is on? How many litres is your average fill? Howmany km's per tank? How hard do you drive?

1 Normaly try to fill at the 1/4 tank mark
2 Never really checked that
3 I have cruised more than 500km on a tank
4 No granny here

I drive average (I think anyway) and usually drive for about 50 or so KM after the light comes on, usually put in around 65 or so litres, after about 480-530km (depending on how much freeway time compared to city) took it down all the way once...had can o gas in trunk, got 125 km after light came on. (I just needed to know how far i could go)

Well, I never wait until my gas light comes before I fill up, so it really varies how many litres my G will take. I know that I definitely get more than 450kms per tank though. I usally have close to a quarter tank left after 450kms (Give or take a few kms). Mind you, most of my driving is highway. I don't baby my G, but I don't drive it hard by any means either.

It's funny cause I just got home from filling up, then I read this. I very rarely wait till the light comes on.
On today's fill-up I travelled 533km and put in 58.021 L of #91. That works out to 9.19 km/L or 10.88L/100km or 25.96 IMP MPG. This is a bit higher than my average. I am not a hard driver, but I do get on it once in a while. My driving is at least 75% highway.
My very best has been 9.86L/100km or 28.649 IMP MPG.

my fuel consumption has ben consistently POOR. I averaged about 15L/100KM with a mix of hwy and city driving. The best I got was 90% hwy driving and at 90% of the time with cruise control set at 120KM/H. I got 9.9L/100KM. I am trying to see whether my consumption will decrease now that I have a K&N filter. Slim chance but maybe...

I'd say that's pretty darn good, 9.9 L/100km = 28.5 IMP MPG

But as I said, that's almost all highway. Otherwise we are talking about 14-16L/100KM, that's pretty poor!

Before, I usually didn't wait for the light to come on, but lately I have been. The most I have put into the car was 68.5 Litres. I usually get close to 490 to 540 KMs per tank, but it also depends on how much highway driving I do.

I just added all my fill-ups up except for the first 4 times since the start of 2005. The average gas mileage for 38 fill-ups is 11.62L/100km or 24.308 IMP MPG. We now have about 16,600 km on the car and the majority of our driving is highway.

even when I drive the G hard and am in stop and go traffic, I still always get over 500/tank. If I'm just cruising on the highway with no traffic probably around 550-575 a tank. It has definitely improved since I first bought the car.

Thumbs up

My last tank full, mostly highway- 32 mpg 8.9 l/100k no granny either
That was my highest yet. Normally average about 21-22 mpg city/combined and about 30 straight highway. Now with the 5/16 spacer we'll find out what happens.

I fillerup just past the 1/4 left mark. Never heard or seen the Low fuel signal. I get about 10L/100km on a regular basis. 75% highway driving at 100-120 with the occasional spurt. She's got 67 000 Km on the clock.
