Z air inlet tube.

So I go into my dealer to check on a Z air inlet tube to go on my Coupe knowing it's a popular mod and discover there is one but it's not local. I say ok just find out where and tell them you want it. So when my parts guy Rick is off the phone I ask where the last one in Canada is: Oh he says at a dealer called "Erickson" (spelling), and b4 he tells me where Erickson is, I say oh yeh --- in Edmonton.
Apparantly a Coupe owner has one sitting there waiting for pickup, at Erickson and it's the last one in Canada. (until Nissan fills backorders).
Couldn't get the name, but I got a hunch it's someone we know. LOL. Anyone out there in Edmonton area? Get your butt to Erickson. They've got your part in. (191.27)

Re: Z air inlet tube.

Are you talking about the tube from the throttle body down to the MAF in this pic? Why not get a CAI instead? If you order from the dealer on these parts, they usually take about 2-3weeks for the part to arrive. If you want this that bad, just order one through the dealership. Tell them to give you a discount, they always do if you ask.

Re: Z air inlet tube.

Hate to tell you this GSM but I picked up mine last Wednesday right here at my local Nissan dealer in Barrie. Haven't installed it yet. As you may have seen in the g35 coupe section, I had a hole in my rad and my car is at Donner Nissan/Infiniti getting a new one (rad) installed. I'll post my impressions as soon as I install it.

Re: Z air inlet tube.

Hey you're looking after me, thanks bro. I went in thinking the part(which is the one you talked about in the pic), might be $50 or less (RIGHT) and I'd get one while waiting for the K&N CAI to come out. In the process of finding one , and looking up the price, and seeing that there aren't any out there anyway, I quickly lost interest.
You're right, $191.27 goes a long way to buying a CAI and that's what I shall do. If I can't get K&N, I'll prolly go Stillen.
I may just wait for Yuichi to do his Intake and Exhaust Shootout soon, for some results, we'll see. He writes for a magazine called 'Sport Z Magazine. sportz.com
I just wondered who bought the inlet tube at Erickson, one of us ......... That's it bro......later and thanks

Re: Z air inlet tube.

Hey Scoop, Not good about the rad. Was it warranty, insurance or OOP (out of pocket LOL). Good luck with that.
And also with the Z inlet tube. Some have said it's good for a few ponies, and some nice sound. Our stock inlet tube has that resonator/silencer contraption that apparantly soaks up some power (and some ear candy)
The unfortunate thing with it here was it's price: $191.27 (b4 my 15% discount) Since I'm buying a CAI sometime soon, I lost interest. Does that price fall in line with yours give or take? (it pays to check around)

Good luck with the new rad and I/Tube. See you at next meet for a .... I haven't forgotten your ESM.

Re: Z air inlet tube.

That's 'Ericksen Infiniti Nissan'. Hmmm. Not sure whom on this forum besides PPP has a Coupe. What's the price on these things and has anyone got dyno numbers to say it's a worthwhile mod?

Re: Z air inlet tube.

Hi GSM

Ya the price on the 350Z tube is right on. I'm just going to go with the tube for now, don't want to spend any more money as I just bought a new AWD vehicle for my winter driving & will put the G35c away in Nov. My rad had a large hole on the back (engine) side. Don't know what did it but I heard it happen while driving home on Saturday & yes Donner Infiniti did repair it under warranty.

Re: Z air inlet tube.

Does the Stillen come with the air inlet tube? I'm waiting for my parts guy to get back to me with pricing on some parts and I had asked for the Stillen CAI and the 350Z tube. It would suck to have to pay for it and not need it or do the Stillen instal without changing the inlet tube.

Re: Z air inlet tube.

PimpCoupe, I'm fairly sure the Stillen CAI comes with the inlet tube as part of the kit. To be 100% sure tho, check their website to confirm. You shouldn't need the Z tube. Those tubes up here in Canada are pricey, but in U.S. are much cheaper. New at dealer $75, used on ebay (I was told) $50. Beats the hell out of our $191.27 + tax. (Altho back ordered everywhere)
I'm waiting for K&N's CAI to come out. Pretty sure it includes the inlet tube. Their other kits do.

Re: Z air inlet tube.

Gse,

I have done some more checking on this forum. If you look at Chiphead's pics you will see that he has the Stillen installed but still has the stock inlet tube. I'm glad I ordered both!
