not so sure about him being able to get the keys to anything. Maybe the key to a few kids hearts.

 

The same Yoshi that gets us the double din conversion. Waiting on price quote on the key.

So no one knows how to do this mod?

 

i looked at that pic... not much to see. does that key have the buttons on it for trunk, doors, etc..? it looks like there's a red button on the corner that may be used as a panic button. it could be that this key is completely compatible with our cars... just get it cut/programmed by the dealer. i can't imagine this guy did any fancy/magical work to it to get it going. but that's just mho. nice looking key though if it includes the buttons too. keep us posted if u get it to work, i wouldn't mind buying a set myself.

edit: hmmm... i just noticed on page 5 that he's got a pic of it in the ignition and he still has the ugly key fob attached to his ring... so i'm assuming that there isn't any buttons on the key... that sucks.

 

The key has no buttons on it. The red you see indicates the immobilizer chip, if it is possible then it looks like he has reprogrammed this key to work- OR he has a key emulator attached to the pickup for the immobilizer system itself.. If you guys look at your own keys you either see a nice blue or awful green chip on your exisiting key. You will need to reprogram all your existing keys. Dealers usually charge 0.5 labour, they will need your VIN, your car and about 1/2 hour to do it.
