GTA Detailing / training day / questions answered *UPDATED w/location AND DATE!!!!!!*

Hey guys - I've finally started detailing cars now that spring has arrived. I just did my own and 4 customer cars last weekend and since I've been getting quite a few PMs from members asking for help, about the training day, my services and so on, I thought I would post.

First the training day - the idea came up last year to do a PC training day, and I think it's a great idea. (https://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72681). I'd be happy to help in any way possible so we all need to set something up. I'm free most weekend (not this coming one, Easter and all), we just need a place with some room, water, and electricity.

Second - detailing questions. If you need any help please feel free to keep PMing me. I don't mind and am happy to assist.

Third - (I don't really want to sell myself so; ) I'll just say that if anyone needs a detail locally I am usually available so just let me know and I am sure we can work something out.

Cheers fellas.

(oh, and fwiw - my website is all new and I would appreciate any comments/suggestions/critiques!)

My Website

Great offer, Picus.....and TNX.

If there is enough interest, and someplace can be found, and I can make it, I'd love a detailing session like that.

Thanks!

To answer your question, I can fix rock chips (here is an example of a before/after: http://gtaindetail.com/pics/03g35041...ge/befaf3.jpg). Just to be realistic though (I always like to direct folks towards the best option for fixing their paint), while it's probably beneficial cost wise to have a detailer like me fix a few chips, after the 10th one (give or take), it's probably a better idea to have the cover repainted.

I mention that for two reasons. First, fixing multiple chips properly would take a detailer most of the day (between paint drying, wetsanding, and polishing each), and if you have many chips odds are your bumper probably needs a repaint anyway. I hope this makes sense. I only bring it up because I've had folks contact me whose bumpers have been almost sand blasted from rocks. In cases like that as much as I hate to turn away business it really is better for them to get a repaint. If it's only a couple of chips I can definitely take care of it.

Sorry to ramble - the easy answer is yes, I absolutely can do rock chips.

Terrific Website, Picus.

This thing called 'car care' is more of a science than I realized, tho it doesn't seem too difficult even for an old fart like me.

A little training/experience, proper tools, and good product would seem to be big assets, and it'll be great to hook up and have a go with our rides.

I hope the location works out for us, it'll be a fun time, and thanks again for your offer of expertise and time.

C.

Sure, anything for the 'driver' members!

Just sit tight guys. We will figure out a way to do this one way or another. It's just a matter of finding an area big enough for all of us with some water and electricity (and hopefully some shade).
