Hey Kevin,

Just curious.....I Imagine you have also driven an M3. How would you compare the power delivery to the 335? Anyone else?

Hi Ted,
The M3 is totally different, harder edged.
The M3 torque is a lot less off the line but builds dramatically to red line.
The 335 brings everything to the table at 13-1500 rpm & holds flat as a table to about 5600, after that it tails off.

In general...
The M3 is still the baller sport coupe.
While the 335 is a kick azz daily driver.

Me too Ted...
just wish they'd give us some firm time frame instead of all this vague tight lipped bs.
I'd like to be able to do some planning

I agree with Ian; as much as it's fun for folks to compare these two cars they are entirely different. The only thing they share are straight line times and the badge. The S54 engine is a rev mongering beast; it eggs you on and urges for more rpm, more rpm and as they rise it just breathes and breathes. The ride in the M3 is way stiffer, edgy so to speak - it feels much more urgent and involves you in every second of the drive. I understand how people can drive them daily, but I couldn't - it is a lot of car.

The 335i is more like a V8, it's very much akin to a Mercedes V8 or even the engine in the S4; very linear delivery, a huge powerband, super smooth - depectively fast with the same amount of "pull" at 1300rpm as you have at 5000rpm; just like a V8. The handling is very very good, but the ride is definitely softer than the M3 and it's geared more towards daily driving. Don't get me wrong, I personally think (whether I am biased or not) that the suspension is *perfectly* dialed in, it's so planted it's really astonishing. There is very little body roll or steering strafe - but you do give up some tossability in return for the tamer daily ride.

I personally thinkt he 335i is much more similar to the new S4 than the M3. it really depends on what you're after.

Well I guess that yours will be the perfect test mule for me . Can't wait to help you break her in. Tough decision ahead, and Ian, you are right. They (Infiniti) need to feed our info hunger pains a little better. Ultimate Drivingg Machine is right.....but togh to beat the sexiness of our G's. There are only maybe 3 coupes here in Chatham.....ah the stares I get.....

M3, 335, or new G coupe.........great to have these choices.

Hey guys, no updates for awhile..busy, busy! I know I will see most of you this weekend but I just wanted to post and mention that now is the perfect time for a "pre-winter" detail. I just did my car today and don't expect to touch it again aside from washes all winter. What would one of my posts be without pics? Just one for today, a cool car - '95 Corrado. Check out the befors. :eek
