you will have a lot of fun with this bike. My best friend has a 03 sv650...but not the S, and it has tons of low end torque. I had a 04 gsxr 750 which was totalled, and now a 05 yamaha warrior. Just watch out for other stupid drivers, and have fun!

Looks great giddyup....Love the colour and the faring.
That's a twin right??? I'll bet it's a rocket...and a lightweight.

Been thinking about biking again lately, but pricing has changed since my biking days in the 80's and 90's, not to mention insurance. uggggg.

Have fun bro, and keep the rubber down....

Congrats on the new ride! The SV is a fantastic bike & a lot of fun.

If you really want to learn how to have fun on it, sign up for a day at FAST here. It will make the experience soooo much more fun! You can rent their bike for the day or take your own. I took my CBR929 to phase one after owning for 2 days... a little spooky but a great time all the same. You may be more comfortable renting their bike and besides, last I heard they were still using SVs!

Have fun & ride safe
Cheers
J.

yeah... it's a vtwin engine. i think the bike is about 400 pounds or less with a full tank of gas. it's got a low centre of gravity and feels very light. i test drove my friends katana 600 and it feels tremendously top heavy compared to this bike.

insurance isn't too bad depending what u get. i could have had liability with specified perils for 1500$. that's pretty decent for a m1 license. i decided to go for full collision at 2000$. next year my rate drops to 890$ with full coverage. i was told it's age dependent... i turn the big 3-0 this year ... hence the drop. i'm with jevco.

took it out yesterday afternoon... it's a complete blast to drive. it's funny how sluggish the G felt this morning after riding the bike. fun stuff.

400 lbs.is light. The last bike I had was monstrous compared to today's rides at about 520 lbs. It was quick and fast but quite top heavy. And the tires weren't low profile or very wide at all. The rear wouldn't allow more than about 180mm!!!!. Very puny.
I still miss it tho...I'd love to do it again, and I've still got my 'M' licence.

Jevco treated me well for all those years and judging by my age to yours, my insurance should be about half what yours is. lol.

With my present skills, I should probably just get a moped.

Enjoy and watch out for all those 'blind' drivers....

Colin
