where to get CarPC monitor for 2004 G35 Coupe

I want to get the monitor for a CarPC for my 2004 G35, but the only place where I know how to get that is here:
http://store.mp3car.com/Infiniti_G35..._p/dsh-002.htm

And they are out of stock. And it doesn't look like they're getting any more.

Do you guys know where else I can get this or a similar part?

thanks,

PVC

I think your best bet may be to make a wtb post on mp3car and hopefully run across someone who pulled theirs out. I remember those were out of stock 2 years ago when I was looking at stuff for mine.

No. I just installed it in a fixed position. Mine is an 05 so the kit wouldn't have worked for me. I just remembered seeing it was out of stock back then. If you decide to just go the fixed route it was pretty easy. I just trimmed the compartment a little and made a metal bracket to secure it and then screwed the top of the compartment down so it would rest against the back of the monitor to give it a little extra support. Keep us posted on your project if you decide to go for it!

cool will do. I think though, that I might end up getting either a pre-owned housing, or get one of the motorized stock monitors, and replace the monitor with something I can plug a VGA cable to.

Hey Dracov, read your other thread... nice install and DIY. i am looking to build a similar set up for a friend (already have a setup in my scion). 350$ is tough to bite though considering all i need is the screen housing, and i cant recommend my friend to go that way...

any idea where i can get one cheaper?

If you want to make it look as stock as possible, then you have to go with the stock popup mechanism, I would look on ebay for as-is, broken screens with that popup housing.

mp3car had some few years ago, and maybe if you look thru classifieds there will be some available, but if I recall correctly the price for the housing was bout 350 and the price for the housing with xenarc was bout 700.

ebay seems like the best alternative

sweet... waited long enough on eBAY and found a screen housing, screen, and nav controls for $300 shipped.... looks like my friend will soon join the g35 carpc club, ill use your other thread as a reference for the screen setup.
