I tried doing the optimizations and i did a little bit of stuff with bios but i'm still having the same problem.. the computer seems to hang (for like 5 minutes) right before doing the memory testing on the initial boot up... has anyone else had this problem.. i'm thinking.. maybe the memory is too much for it something.. because i stuck in 1 gig of ram... maybe i should just try and go back to the original 256 low profile memory that it came with... any suggestions?

perhaps this is a CAS latency issue? anyone think this is possible? dunno.. throwing it out there. I have this picture in my head of some bizzare-o low profile memory with a CAS of like 3 or something non-common.

might be late for the solution but it could be your AV software trying to scan a floppy drive. The two most popular programs are defaulted to do this even if you have no floppy.
