Is it possible to to use the oem navi pop up screen with a car pc or other external source if your car is a non navi model?
I bought navi system from a wrecked g35 and really like that pop up screen but dont want to go through headache of doing the whole oem navi install

It is much more possible as it's an 04 than if it was an 05 or 06. I would shoot tvandnav2go an email or PM and ask him if his unit requires a connection from the stock NAV computer/DVD drive in order to run. It may not, in which case you may have a chance.

In the other case, if his unit requires you to connect the stock NAV computer/DVD drive, you can pretty much kiss the idea goodbye. Hooking the stock nav computer/DVD drive into a non-nav car is hellish.

Well I would certainly reconisder using the stock LCD but that doesnt mean you couldnt mold an aftermarket LCD (ie Xenarc or Lilliput) into its place so you have a clean stock look but with an LCD that supports computer ouput

Dont mean to drag up an old thread, but did you ever get an answer to your question tbnismo? And if your not using the old navi screen would you be interested in selling it? I already have stock nav system and screen, but I'm planning on retro fitting a touch screen into the stock slider and it would be a lot nicer to do it on an extra system..........just in case.
