ZAINO - newbie

Hi, I have had my car for about 3 months and desperately need to give it a nice detailing. There are some swirl marks and my paint seems sad and dry...like its suffering =(. i want to use zaino, but am a bit intimidated by the process, however, am willing to learn and try anything. time is of no importance when it comes to my baby. here is my question:

WHAT DO I NEED!!!??? there are so many products? use all of them? can i just buy the zaino show car kit for 90 bucks? thats the complete right? anything better than that?

or should i simply use crystal guard? thanks guys.

I'm on the same boat as you, 3 month old Coupe... I have zaino, but it's been to hot here in S Cali to wax. I have never waxed a car before, but reading the instructions on the Zaino web site makes it less intimidating, since Zaino is non abraisive, and can't really harm the paint.
Get the starter kit and plenty of good 100% cotton towels is what I've been told.
Seen cars with Zaino applied, All I can say is WOW! I can't wait to do mine.

When I first did mine it was real hot here. Do a search on a post of mine. I think it was titled "Zaino'd the coupe". I listed some things I should've done different.

Well, ya just gotta get up really early with the sunrise and start it then. Or do it late afternoon in the shade and it'll work fine.

In terms of what to get? They sell a kit--it's about $85 and has everything you need and will last you quite a while.

Honestly, I don't find Zaino as labor intensive as waxing--I mean, yes, you do layer the coats, but application is very easy and you don't have to rub very hard when it's time to take it off. You just have to pay attention to the direction you apply it and rub it so that you avoid swirls. And you can do it over days. If you need to do the clay first, that adds some effort and time. Then you wash and dry and mix the accelerator with Z5 or Z2, whichever fits your need and wipe it on. Wait to dry. (which will be quick in your area) Wipe off. Do another coat. Finish up with a spray/rub of Z6 and you are good to go. You can add another coat of Z2 days or weeks later if you want (after a wash/dry)--or just refresh with Z6 after washing/drying.

It's so satisfying!!!! The Zen of Zainoing. Enjoy the process. Be in the Zaino moment. (yeah, I'm a Zaino whack nut, but my garnet fire sedan is soooooo pretty.)

Kit is a really good package- We got it for a buddy, and did up his 87 MR2- results were awesome. We dawned, clay barred, dawned, z5,z6,z5,z6,z2,z6 (z2 and z5 with zfx). Took about 5 hours for the 2 of us, much of which was waiting for coats to set up. Read the website for application and tips and tricks. One post here adds one great trick- dispense your z2 and z5 from a dental syringe (avail at the drugstore)Remember, this pic here is a 16 yr old dark coloured car. Whaddaya think.
