Advice needed......
Advice needed......
….. on how to wax, I live in an apartment so I really don’t have any access to any water source at all. What I do is bring the car to a carwash then wax it in the garage of my apartment using either mother’s or zymol. I’m really open to any advice on how to take care of the G considering I live in an apartment. And also is mother's or zymol any good, or is there anything else i can use, thanks.
Re: Advice needed......
If I were in your situation, I'd use a spray bottle of water, and one of CG. Clean the car, bring it back to the garage, go over the panels with a microfiber cloth and water, then apply the CG to the wet panels; spread and buff away.
Zaino and CG are the two "waxes" you'll hear the most about-- even though CG isn't a wax, but anyway... I think your situation may be somewhat rough for the Zaino process. Anyone else care to chime in?
PS- I do this with my car, and you can see the pic in my profile.

Geo...was thinking the same thing, if i lived in an apartment with a carport, i would definitely use CG
I would go to a do-it-yourself carwash place, then use the water bottle sprayer technique of applying CG-quick.
In fact, that is what i am planning to do this winter as i dont have hot water anywhere near outside the house

You could actually clean your car at the self-service wash, then take it home and just gently get rid of any added grim with a microfiber and some water, then do the CG application at home.

Re: Advice needed......
it also depends on what self-service carwash you use. some of them have huge signs saying "no buckets, towels, or sponges allowed" or something weird implying they want you to use their stuff only when you're in their port.

I have a black coupe, fortunately a garage as well.
I'm afraid no matter what product you choose the commercial car wash soap is going to leave a haze on your car.
I used Zaino's for my first detail. I'm very happy with the results.
I found a posting on the web where someone with a car shop did a comparitive test of Zaino and four popular products. They sectioned a hood and applied the wax and polishes allowing customers to take a visual comparison and blind touch test. The products were not named on the hood. After a month or so and numerous washes at a local car wash 85% of their customers chose Zaino's.
Good luck with whatever products you choose, and enjoy your new car!
